Kate Beckinsale To Return For 3D Underworld Trilogy

Presently there is a rumor circulating, that has been confirmed by two sources of the Bloody Disgusting website, that actress Kate Beckinsale is set to reprise her role as Selene in a brand new 3D "Underworld" trilogy.

Earlier this month Sony/Screen Gems announced plans for a brand new series of "Underworld" films that would utilize 3D technology.

Beckinsale opted to pass on the third film, " Underworld: Rise of the Lycans", which was produced by her husband Len Wiseman, and was replaced, though, in a different role, by fellow Brit Rhona Mitra.

Reportedly it is the fact that the films will be shot in 3D that got Beckinsale to com back to the "Underworld" fold.

I want to point out the fact that this is a rumor, so far no one on the production team or any representatives for either Kate Beckinsale or Sony have been able to comment.

Kate Beckinsale stars in the adventure film "Whiteout" which will be released by Warner Bros September 11th.

  1. Technically Rhona Mitra played a different character, IIRC. Still does anyone really need another 3 Underworld films?
