A big breasted Japanese girl bouncing around fighting monsters. - The Ancient Dogoo Girl revisited

Written By Ken Hulsey

In thinking about how to write this review, I was really torn on how, exactly, to approach it. On the outset, "The Ancient Dogoo Girl" delivers exactly what was advertised in the promo clip I posted to Youtube, that has been viewed 133,000 times, a big breasted Japanese girl, bouncing around fighting monsters.

Granted, that is the draw of the show, but to my delight, I am happy to report that there is more here than just T&A.

Now, that being said, the folks over at the MBS network know exactly what they have, the very busty 20-year-old Erika Yazawa, running around in a clay bikini, making their male viewers loose their mind, and they don't apologize for it.

They know that people are tuning into their series because of breasts and they go for it, all the way, in the second episode, called "Yōkai: Big Breasts". There is no way to dance around it, its an episode about boobs. The episode starts out with a male teen looking at an adult (non-nude) magazine featuring big-breasted women. One of his male teachers catches him with the magazine, takes it away from him, then runs off to look at it himself.

Needless to say, the monster in the episode is disguised as a busty school teacher who isn't shy about flaunting her cleavage. Oh, and she kills her victims with blades that pop out of her chest.

Pretty much what you would have expected, after seeing the trailer:

Though, I have to give the makers of "The Ancient Dogoo Girl" some credit. They went for the 'boob card' early, and moved on. From that point on, the series more resembles old episodes of "Ultraman" or "Kaimen Rider." Each episode featuring a monster of the week for Yazawa's, Dogu-chan, character to fight.

(More After The Break)

Here is the plot:

By chance, the withdrawn, and socially awkward teenage son of a bumbling archaeologist, named Makoto Sugihara finds a strange breastplate buried in the woods. When he places his palm on the breast plate, its design gets burned into his palm and awakens a girl named Dogu-chan, a hyperactive ykai hunter from the Jomon period. Because he had touched her breastplate, Makoto is now bound to Dogu-chan as she adapts to modern day life, forcing Makoto to go with her as she fights ykai in magic armor along with her animated Dogoo statuette companion Dokigoro while slowly prying Makoto out of his shell, whether he likes it or not.

Here is really where I'm torn. I want to say that "The Ancient Dogoo Girl" is a show aimed at teens, despite all the adult overtones. To be honest, when I was trying to think of a series, outside of Asia, to compare it with, all I could come up with was "The Sarah Jane Adventures" on the BBC.

I know that sounds really weird, but its like you took that show, removed Elizabeth Sladen, and replaced her with a busty woman.

"I know you've got a sonic screwdriver, Doctor, and it really comes in handy with fighting aliens, but I prefer to use these." That's when she opens up her blouse and exposes her cleavage.

A perfect analogy? No, but in my warped mind, that's what I came up with.

The other show that seemed to fit was "Xena Warrior Princess". The show seems to share the same campy flare, and though it features a lot a sexy women in tight leather, there is a very interesting story there.

That really is the point, once you get past the cleavage, you begin to understand that "The Ancient Dogoo Girl", really is a lampoon of Japanese society that even takes time to make fun of itself from time to time.

For anyone who has spent a lot of time watching Japanese cinema, and television, this becomes very evident from the start. For anyone who hasn't, the series would undoubtedly come off as a silly nonsensical affair.

Japanese pop-culture has been full of big-breasted heroines for decades. Just look at "Cutie Honey" for example. Manga, Anime, movies and TV shows, have been a haven for such 'boob worship', especially of late. "Dogoo Girl", in many ways, parodies many of these past icons.

In fact, Dogu-chan, is in many ways a direct spoof of "Cutie Honey."

She is vey sexy, but she is completely oblivious to it, like Honey. Though unlike her, Dogu-chan does notice the guys gawking at her. Her reply, "What?.....these?......they are for feeding young children.....what is the big deal?"

I honestly believe that while watching this series, I began to actually over-think things. I was left with thoughts of just to whom the show was marketed. It is so obviously a show for young adults, most of the main characters are in High School. A lot of the action revolves around the school, and many of the themes relate to teenage life and feelings.

But, the show centers around a 10,000 year old girl who uses her breasts to fight monsters?

Is this sort of thing okay in Japan? I certainly wouldn't let my fifteen year old watch it. Would a parent in Japan let theirs?

So many questions, I guess that I'm really trying to over-think this way too much.

As is the case in many Japanese movies, or series, the shows male lead, the shy Makoto Sugihara, played by Masataka Kubota, is ultimately terrified by Dogu-chan's sexuality. Ultimately preferring the company of fellow school-mate Kimika Shishido (Rina Kirishima), who is the exact opposite of the busty hero. Preferring brains to boobs, if you will.

This, of course, leads to a love triangle as the series goes forward. Dogu-chan, initially views Makoto as a servant, but discovers that she has feelings for him as he focuses his attention towards Kimika.

Nothing like a jealous super-hero, though the two young ladies butt heads, they ultimately come together to save Makoto from a pair of gothic cannibal girls.

As a hero, Dogu-chan, is a very interesting mix of almost cliche Anime and manga characters, who gets her power from her ever present companion, Dokigoro, who is an ancient Japanese clay idol who has an internal computer that can identify enemy yōkai (ogre or ghost) monsters.

In times of trouble, Dokigoro breaks apart to form Dogu-Chan's combat armour, consisting of a breast-plate that fires energy weapons and a wrist mounted device that she can insert any object into to modify. Example, if Dogo-Chan were to insert of photo of an arrow into it, it would shoot arrows, if she put a picture of a tomato into it, it would shoot tomatoes. You get the idea.

Oh, and check this out. The reason for Dogu-Chan's ample breasts, every time a yōkai is defeated it's energy is broken down and stored there.

The more monsters she kills, the bigger her chest gets.

Oh, and lets not forget the monsters. As is the case with most tokusatsu series, there are plenty of interesting bad guys for Dogu-Chan to go up a cup size fighting. Ranging from human-fish hybrids who feed on human emotions, a man possessed by a bicycle, ghosts, school girls who transform into animals plus a a pair of demons who are mother and daughter.

Dogu-Chan actually sparred the mother and daughter so that they could work out their relationship.

So, is "The Ancient Dogoo Girl" a teen show? An adult show? Both?

I still don't know, but I can say this, it's a a fun show, that certainly would appeal to fans of anime and shows like "Ultraman".

It also certainly will appeal to horny guys who like cute Japanese girls with big boobs.

Is it for everyone? No, like I mentioned before, a newbie to this genre, or Japanese forms of entertainment would certainly be lost and confused with what they are watching.

Ultimately, "The Ancient Dogoo Girl" is a lot of fun. It's camp, its parody and it's in your face, boobs, boobs, boobs. Which, I don't think any of the guys out there will complain about.

Spock gets in touch with his human side

From Yahoo

J.J. Abrams' "Star Trek" reboot had gorgeous production design, stunning action and enough lens flares to make you think the entire universe was encased in some sort of glass dome. But perhaps even more striking was the unique humanistic spin on the character of Spock, played with pitch-perfect precision by Zachary Quinto.

Quinto's young Vulcan made for a much more emotional Starfleet science officer than the, well, more logical Spock played by Leonard Nimoy. Quinto's Spock was a man struggling with his duality as his human passions often conflicted with his reserved Vulcan upbringing. It was both strange and incredibly cathartic to see Spock lash out in violence after Kirk's rebellious antics and chiding pushed him too far.

Spock's internal struggle will be a focal point of "Star Trek Into Darkness" as well.

"I think we tapped into something in the first film that a lot of people weren't expecting, which is the emotional undercurrent and how powerfully it runs through him," said Quinto in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. "That continues in this film. There are things that happen to him -- and things that he's part of -- that are incredibly personal. That was really exciting for me both physically and emotionally."

Plot details remain under wraps, but as previously reported, the story is rumoured to centre on a soldier (Taylor-Johnson) and involve at least two monsters.

Earlier this month we reported that Bryan Cranston was also in talks to join but there is no mention of the ‘Breaking Bad’ star in this latest report. Binoche most recently starred alongside Robert Pattinson in David Cronenberg's ‘Cosmopolis.’

Gareth Edwards remains attached to direct with the most recent draft of the screenplay coming from Frank Darabont.

Simon Pegg denies 'Star Wars Episode 7' rumour: 'It's Bantha poodoo'

From Digital Spy

Star Trek Into Darkness actor Simon Pegg has dismissed speculation linking him with a role in Star Wars Episode 7.

The Hot Fuzz star has been tipped for a part in the new film since Star Trek filmmaker Jj Abrams was appointed as director, but has now quashed such rumours.

"No idea where this silly rumour about me attached to the new Star Wars film came from but I can confirm that it's absolute Bantha poodoo (not true)," he wrote on Twitter.

Pegg, who has also worked with Abrams on the Mission: Impossible series in the past, was non-committal when Digital Spy quizzed him on the possibility of appearing in Star Wars.

"I've spoken to him and congratulated him but it's not written so there's no casting or anything," he said. "[Me having a role] just hasn't come up."

Haruo Nakajima

by Armand Vaquer

When people think of the “Godfathers of Godzilla,” they usually think of three men: Tomoyuki Tanaka, Ishiro Honda and Eiji Tsuburaya. However, there is also a fourth Godfather: Haruo Nakajima. His importance in making Godzilla a fifty year-plus success story cannot be denied.

Nakajima, an actor and stuntman, first donned the Godzilla suit in Godzilla (1954) and continued to play Godzilla and other creatures, including King Kong in King Kong Escapes, Rodan in Rodan, Gaila in War of the Gargantuas, Varan, Moguerra, Mothra and many others. He played Godzilla in twelve features and monsters in twenty six movies, in addition to TV appearances. His skills as a suit actor became so important that he gained the additional responsibility of becoming the choreographer of titanic monster battles in Toho’s daikaiju eiga epics.

When Nakajima was offered the chance to work in Hollywood productions, Eiji Tsuburaya (angrily) asked him to turn down the offer because, as he said, they couldn’t make giant monster movies without Nakajima.

Above, Nakajima donning the Godzilla suit in 1954.  Note the miniature of the Wako Dept. store in the background.  Photo courtesy of Sonoe Nakajima.
Haruo Nakajima was born on New Year’s Day in 1929 in Yamagata, Japan. He began his career acting in samurai movies. “I was always the one who got killed in a sword fight,” Nakajima says. “One day, I played a pilot in Eagle of the Pacific by Ishiro Honda. In the Midway battle scene, my plane is hit by a bomb. I’m on fire and jump out.  Nowadays, stuntmen specialize in those things, but at the time I was the first Japanese actor to perform such a stunt. This role established my reputation. When they were looking for an actor for Godzilla, they felt I was ideal for it.”

He adds, “They probably thought, ‘He does anything without getting hurt.’” Not always. “When I played the monster Varan,” he said, “a squad of kamikaze planes approached me [to attack]. The explosion [from a special effects bomb] occurred under my thighs. I was burned all the way up to my tummy, but I couldn’t tell anybody during the shoot. Actors didn’t complain at the time (laughs).”

Efforts are now in progress to have Haruo Nakajima inducted into the Rondo Hatton Classic Monster Awards "Monster Kid Hall of Fame."

The Mad Monster Party 2013 will mark the first time in two years that Nakajima-san has attended a North American fan convention. His previous appearance was at Monsterpalooza in Hollywood, California in 2011.

This year, he is accompanied by his daughter, Sonoe Nakajima.  Although Mr. Nakajima does not speak fluent English, fans have found him to be a warm and funny man ready to discuss his monster experiences. He is always happy to greet his public and sign autographs. Please take advantage of this opportunity to honor and meet the man who brought Godzilla and other monsters to life.

Several Early Encounters With Morag Uncovered By Scotish Researcher

From Herald Scotland

Some of the earliest-known writings on Nessie's less well-known cousin shed new light on the community which lived in its shadow more than 100 years ago, according to the researcher who uncovered them.

Morag, a mysterious creature supposed to inhabit the depths of Loch Morar, in the Highlands, is the subject of three separate writings from Alexander Carmichael, a prolific gatherer of folklore in his day.

The scripts, believed to date from 1902, have been uncovered by the Carmichael Watson project at the University of Edinburgh library.

Dr Donald Stewart, a senior researcher on the project, discovered the texts while leafing through a "mad mixture" of folklore collected by Carmichael over 50 years.

"We were so pleased when we found them, it was just totally unexpected," he said.

The writings paint a conflicting view of Morag. On the one hand she is presented as a mermaid-like character with flowing hair, while another description paints her as a grim reaper whose sighting was viewed as a death omen.

In the first text, Carmichael states: "Morag is always seen before a death and before a drowning."

(More After The Break)

A second text reads: "There is a creature in Loch Morar and she is called Morag. She is never seen save when one of the hereditary people of the place dies. The last time she was seen was when Aeneas Macdonnell died in 1898.

"The Morag is peculiar to Loch Morar. She is seen in broad daylight and by many persons, including church persons.

"She appears in a black heap or ball slowing and deliberately rising in the water and moving along like a boat water-logged.

"The Morag is much disliked and is called by many uncomplimentary terms."

A final description, penned by Carmichael at a later date, retains Morag's association with death, but sees her take on more human characteristics.

The Ghastly Love Of Johnny X Featured On CBS News Sunday Morning

Written By: Ken Hulsey

Imagine my surprise this morning when I turned on CBS News Sunday Morning and I saw a little feature about a film I first wrote about five years ago called 'The Ghastly Love of Johnny X'. The piece featured the film and it's creator, film maker Paul Bunnell, illustrating the vast contrast in how big-budget films and independent films are promoted and released into theaters. Here is Bunnell standing outside a movie house in Kansas handing out fliers and asking passers by to come in to see his movie. How is the small time film maker able to compete with the likes of Warner Bros and Universal with their endless supply of cash and publicity outlets? Sadly they can't. Films like 'Johnny X' have to rely on independent film websites (like this one), film festivals, and word of mouth to get noticed by a public that is being constantly bombarded by ads for Hollywood mainstream productions.

How has 'Johnny X' fared so far against Hollywood? Well according to the box office receipts the film took in a puny $117, a number that is not even in the same universe as say 'The Avengers' $1.5 billion worldwide. Unfairly box office numbers don't reflect the money taken in by a film shown at film festivals, where ironically 'Johnny X' has done quite well. Even so, I believe it's safe to say that collectively a film like this didn't overtake 'Avengers' even if the festival dollars were added.

What is 'The Ghastly Love of Johnny X' about exactly? Ever wonder what "Grease" would have been like if Danny and Sandy were both aliens? Well that is the kind of thing you find yourself thinking about after viewing the trailer for Paul Bunnell's musical homage to 1950's sci fi entitled "The Ghastly Love of Johnny X." "Johnny X" features an all-star cast that includes Will Keenan, (Tromeo and Juliet, Terror Firmer and Good Machine's Love God) De Anna Joy Brooks, (The Strand, Neighborhood Watch and Studio House) B movie and Sci Fi icons Reggie Bannister (Phantasm, Bubba Ho-Tep) and Kevin McCarthy (Invasion of the Body Snatchers, Twilight Zone) plus the multi-talented, award winning, actor and composer Paul Williams (Phantom of the Paradise, Battle for the Planet of the Apes, and Smokey and the Bandit). With the type of cast and crew Bunnell has been able to assemble, this one will no doubt end up a hands-down fan favorite.

THE GHASTLY LOVE OF JOHNNY X is a mad concoction, blending 1950s juvenile delinquents, sci-fi melodrama, song-and-dance, and a touch of horror, everything in just the right combination to create an engaging big screen spectacle! Jonathan Xavier and his misfit gang have been exiled to earth from outer space, and his former girlfriend Bliss has stolen his Resurrection Suit, a cosmic, mind-bending uniform that gives the owner power over others. The film's cast includes sexy new stars Will Keenan, De Anna Joy Brooks, Les Williams, and Jed Rowen, as well as seasoned professionals Creed Bratton, Reggie Bannister, Kate Maberly, Paul Williams and the late Kevin McCarthy, in his final role. Along the way, there will be several highly stylized musical numbers, lots of genuinely humorous dialogue, and a wacky plot-twist or two, all expertly filmed in glorious black and white. A truly bizarre and entertaining motion picture!

To boldly go where no man has gone before - Star Trek Revisited

Written By: Ken Hulsey

I, as most fans of Science Fiction, began my life-long love of the genre by watching “Star Trek”. I honestly didn’t discover the series on my own. I was “persuaded” to watch the series by my older cousin Rick, who was an avid fan. The first episode I ever saw was “Arena” which pitted Captain Kirk against the lizard-man captain of the Gorn species in a fight to the death orchestrated by yet another unseen alien species. Being a young man who was in love with Dinosaurs the reptilian Gorn first captured my interest, but it was the intelligent and well-written story that brought me back for more episodes. My own youthful spirit of adventure combined with a longing to travel beyond the boundaries of my own back yard were a perfect match for the series exploration storylines and charismatic characters. What six-year-old boy doesn’t long to pilot a starship across the vast unexplored regions of infinite space? Thus I became a Trekkie and a Sci-fi fan for life.

Although the show did enjoy a loyal fan following during its initial run on prime-time television it never was a ratings success. The network that aired the program, NBC, often switched the shows time slot and many times placed it opposite the competitions most popular programs. As is the case almost every time a show receives this form of shuffling, it spelled doom for “Star Trek” and the series was soon on the road to cancellation. A mass letter writing champagne organized by the shows loyal fans did persuade the network to extend the series one more season, but ultimately the ratings figures just weren’t high enough to keep the show on the air.

Syndication was the saving grace for “Star Trek”. Soon after the show had been canned by NBC, Paramount, who had purchased the rights to the show from Desilu, began shopping the show around to local TV affiliates. The show gained a huge following when it was marketed to younger viewers as part of their after school programming. Soon “Trek” toys began appearing on store shelves and a mass marketing snowball began rolling. Lunch boxes, posters, miniature starships and even an animated series were all hurriedly put into production. Fans began to organize fan clubs and conventions that quickly grew into large-scale star-studded events. Never before had a series been reborn in the manner “Star Trek.” did after it was syndicated. “Star Trek” quickly moved from a mere TV series to a cult phenomenon.

(More After The Break)

Originally the concept of Gene Roddenberry’s brainchild was a much different series all together. The show was initially conceived as a sort of “Wagon Train” in space that would have given the shows writers a vast variety of story concepts. Anyone who has seen the shows pilot episode “The Cage” understands that the original concept for “Star Trek” was a much different creature than what finally ended up on network television. In a lot of ways the show would have more resembled “Trek’s” offspring “Star Trek: The Next Generation” than the “use diplomacy while we charge the phasers” program we have all grown up with. The executives at NBC, however, believed that the show as too cerebral for the general American populous and only agreed to air the show if the scripts were “dumbed down”. Also the shows writers decided to streamline the plot to a basic “spaceship in trouble” format. Ultimately Roddenberry would have to make these changes in order to see his creation reach the airwaves.

“Star Trek” would employ some of the best writers in the genre including Robert Bloch and Jerome Bixby. (Fantastic Voyage, It! The Terror from Beyond Space) This talent pool would be responsible for some of the best series writing in the history of Sci-Fi TV. Ultimately many of these writers would come to resent the constant interference of both producer Gene Coon and consultant Dorothy C Fontana who were both responsible for adapting each screenplay. Many times the writers complained that what ended up on television didn’t live up to what they had put to paper. In fact Jerome Bixby’s son mentioned to me how much his father disliked the way his scripts had been reworked. He also stated that his father became visibly upset each time the episodes aired. Such is the television and movie business I suppose.

The show was designed to center around the Enterprises charismatic girl-chasing captain James T Kirk (William Shatner) however the focus of attention would belong to the ships second in command the always logical and unemotional half Vulcan half human Science Officer Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy). This came much to the surprise of the series producers. Spock, it would seem, would become an unintentional sex symbol and icon to the shows female audience. It may be hard to believe but in the late 1960s’ Spock was considered the ultimate symbol of cool. Spock cooler than Captain Kirk? Initially yes. This factor would ultimately find its way into some of the series later episodes. Who’s cooler than someone who doesn’t seem to give a damn? Don’t tell Shatner. He still thinks it’s his show.

So now here we sit forty years (+) after “Star Trek” made its debut on American television. The show still enjoys the same popularity and loyal fan following it did after it entered into syndication. The franchise it spawned is still going strong with four spin-off television series and ten motion pictures (the 11th is in the concept stages) to its credit. There are still fan clubs and conventions. People still build life size replicas of the Enterprise Bridge in their living rooms and still many yet try to conquer the complex Klingon language. “Trek” is unique pop-culture phenomenon that perhaps only comes around only once in a lifetime. Maybe twice if you count “Star Wars”. Could a television series ever again achieve this kind of a cult following? Only time will tell. It is however certain that in another forty years there will be “Trekkies” somewhere out there.

Mark Hamill Talks About A Possible Retro Star Wars Episode VII

From TG Daily

Right now, rumors about the new Star Wars movie are all over the place, and one of the biggest ones going around at the moment is that the original Star Wars crew, Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, will probably be returning.

Actually, for some time now there have been rumors that Hamill, Ford and Fisher would be headed back to the Star Wars universe, while another recent rumor claimed Ford’s deal to return was as good as sealed.

Now Hamill has broken the silence about all this to The Hollywood Reporter and Entertainment Tonight, and he said, "They’re talking to us. George [Lucas] wanted to know whether we’d be interested. He did say that if we didn’t want to do it, they wouldn’t cast another actor in our parts; they would write us out."

Hamill also added, "I can tell you right away that we haven’t signed any contracts. We’re in the stage where they want us to go in and meet with [screenwriter] Michael Arndt, and Kathleen Kennedy. Both have had meetings set that were postponed – on their end, not mine. They’re more busy than I am."

(More After The Break)

So already this is a very candid assessment of what’s going on, which is surprising considering that so much in Hollywood today is ultra top-secret. At the same time, Hamill doesn’t know what the next Star Wars is going to be about, but he also wants the rest of the old gang to come back, including Billy Dee Williams and Anthony Daniels.

At the same time, Hamill did lend a little bit of credence to the kids of Han, Luke and Leia rumor. "I’m assuming, because I haven’t talked to the writers, that these movies would be about our offspring…like my character would be sort of in the Obi-Wan range [as] an influential character."

Shatner and Nimoy campaign to name Pluto’s moon Vulcan

From Radio Times

The satellite is likely to be named after the fictional planet (or the Roman God, depending on your point of view) thanks to Captain Kirk and Mr Spock

The fictional planet Vulcan – home of Star Trek’s Mr Spock – could soon have a real-life namesake tracing its orbit through our very solar system thanks to the show's stars William Shatner and Leonard Nimoy.

Shatner, who played Captain James T Kirk in the classic sci-fi series, successfully nominated Vulcan for inclusion in a public poll by The Seti Institute which will decide the names of two of Pluto's newly discovered moons, currently known simply as P4 and P5. Meanwhile, Nimoy, aka starship Enterprise first officer Mr Spock, told his 447,000 Twitter followers "'Vulcan' is the logical choice. LLAP".

The duo's support seems to have done the trick – with less than three days until the poll closes, Vulcan is way out in front with over 13,000 votes, 5,000 more than its nearest rival.

(More After The Break)

Mark Showalter of Seti (the Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence) said "Vulcan is the Roman god of lava and smoke, and the nephew of Pluto... Any connection to the Star Trek TV series is purely coincidental" but admitted "We can be sure that [Star Trek creator] Gene Roddenberry read the classics. Thanks to William Shatner for the suggestion!"

Compelling Video of Mass UFO Sighting

From Gather.com

A squadron of sliver orb UFO balls of light was caught on video as they "danced" through a darkening sky with the onset of a storm. What are they?

The video, submitted to the destination site "Third Phase Of Moon" has been making the rounds on the web because of the unusual activity captured. The orbs fly around each other in a controlled pattern and several times dip in and out of the clouds.

That seems to rule out the most usual method of trickery: beams of light reflected off a mirror pointed at the sky.

A Family of Bigfoot Spotted Alongside Texas River

CNHI News Service

PORT NECHES, Texas — David Arceneaux said he felt a chill as he looked across Block Bayou at a line of trees about 100 yards away.

“I’m not crazy. I don’t do drugs and I’m not a drinker,” Arceneaux said before telling his tale of seeing not one but two Bigfoot-like creatures huddled together one December morning.

The Nederland, Texas, native visits Oak Bluff Cemetery about once a month to clean the graves of a friend and a cousin, something he has done for years without incident. But on an overcast, windless day, Arceneaux said he got the fright of his life.

“I heard a blood-curdling scream and a lady nearby asked me if I was OK. I told her it wasn’t me,” Arceneaux said. “We walked over to the water and looked to the left then straight ahead.”

He said what he saw next amazed him. Two Bigfoot-like creatures who had been throwing rocks in the water looked across at him and the unknown female. One was standing next to a tree, arms around the trunk and the other was squatted down. As the second creature rose from the crouching position Arceneaux estimated the creature was about eight-foot tall. So he snapped a photo with his phone, he said.

(More After The Break)

“All of a sudden they started walking then running through the woods,” he said of the bipedal creatures. “When they began to run, the lady said ‘I’m leaving’ and left. I stayed a few more seconds and then thought there may be a way for them to cross here so I left, scared.”

Arceneaux said he could see the face of the creature “clear as day.” There was hair from the mouth down like a man and when the creature turned he could see hair hanging down its arm.

Disturbed by what he saw, Arceneaux said he went home and watched an episode of “Finding Bigfoot” but had to change the channel when they played an audio recording of Bigfoot — it was too real.

Roger and Mickey the new Martin and Lewis?

From Cinema Blend

We've been hearing rumors for years regarding a potential sequel to the Robert Zemeckis hit Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but at the end of the day it very well could be another project that brings the titular cartoon bunny back to the big screen. The other day rumors were launched that a remake of the Dean Martin-Jerry Lewis comedy The Stooge was in the works with the lead characters set to be replaced by Mickey Mouse and Roger Rabbit. But as outlandish as that may sound, it turns out that it's actually true.

Following on the heels of the rumor, which was launched by AICN, the great Gary K. Wolf, who created Roger Rabbit, wrote a letter to the site explaining that the movie is real and currently being pitched as a 100% animated film to Disney/Pixar. According to the author, the film would have many of the same plot elements as the original version of The Stooge - which came out in 1952 - but would not be a straight remake. Producer Erik von Wodtke has already developed a story and a treatment for the movie, which is invisione4d as a "musical buddy comedy." Said Wolf about the project,

Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher to join Ford in Star Wars Episode VII?

From Collider

Another day, another Star Wars rumor. As anticipation for Disney and Lucasfilm’s upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII continues to rise, fans are clamoring for every tiny bit of information concerning the new trilogy. Firm details are incredibly scarce at the moment, and things will likely stay that way for some time now that “Mystery Man” J.J. Abrams has officially signed on to direct Episode VII. The most recent unconfirmed rumor concerning the film states that Harrison Ford is in talks to reprise his role as Han Solo, and now a new rumor has surfaced that suggests Solo will be joined by his pals Luke and Leia, as Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher may or may not be returning in a storyline that focuses on the trio’s children. Hit the jump for more.

Before we get too far into this, it’s important to note that at this point nobody knows anything, so take the following rumor with the biggest heap of salt possible. That being said, a report at Showbiz 411 claims that Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher will be reprising their roles as Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, and Princess Leia. Moreover, the story apparently revolves around the children of the original trilogy’s main characters, as their spawn has been tapped as the new trilogy’s protagonists.

“She’s traded raptors for TIE Fighters.” - Kathleen Kennedy Jumps Franchises

From Total Film

Despite having done a lot of talking about Jurassic Park 4, it looks as though Kathleen Kennedy won’t be involved in the forthcoming resurrection of the dino-franchise, with Star Wars: Episode VII set to occupy all her time.

“Ms. Kennedy has moved on to Star Wars and will not be producing JP4,” confirmed Frank Marshall, Kennedy’s husband and producing partner. “She’s traded raptors for TIE Fighters.”

Steven Spielberg is still thought to be producing the project, while a director has yet to be found. Plot details are currently non-existent, although Kennedy was previously adamant that the story would have to be a worthwhile one.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition - Racist?

Source: ABC News

The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition has been a staple of dorm rooms and could be found under any teenage boys bed for almost fifty years. During that time no one would ever argue that the magazine had almost anything to do with actually selling bikinis as it was to showcasing a little wholesome T&A.

Now, however it isn't all the skin that has some people upset. Despite all the boobs and asses the magazine is now being labeled as racist and not for the reason you would imagine. No it's not for featuring a limited number of women   of African descent that's the issue, it's for actually featuring photos shot in Africa with the local indigenous residents posed with the models that has people all worked up.

Here is the article:

Sport Illustrated is under fire for their newest swimsuit edition.

The issue is known for its pictures with scantily clad women in international locations.

This year's photos show the models sharing air time with natives on all seven continents. Some are calling the pictures and online videos insensitive, claiming the magazine is using people of color as background or extras as part of the fashion.

"For me, the African picture was probably the most offensive because it played on some of the most old and stereotypical images," said Mark Lamont, a Columbia University professor. "It showed the African as primitive, as almost uncivilized." - READ ARTICLE
