I guess it was about time that Godzilla invaded hip-hop in the form of Dope D.O.D.'s latest single "Godzilla". Though a tribute to the "King of Monsters" the video features a Big-G design that seems to be inspired more by GINO than either the latest Hollywood incarnation or the original Japanese design. Regardless, it's good to see that Godzilla is once again hip or trendy enough to have made it back into the pop culture consciousness.

Of course this isn't the first time that Japanese giant monsters have inspired a hip-hop artist. Who can forget King Geedorah's song "Fazers" from 2008?:
