Michael S. Rodriguez has a sexy Creature homage in 'Lake of Shadows'

The hype:

Three aspiring film makers venture to a mysterious lake resort to uncover a story on a local legend. As they get closer to the truth, the danger follows. Before they know it, they are thrust into a fight for their lives and the truth about Avocado lake... Based on true cases.

Directed by Michael S. Rodriguez.

Written by Michael S. Rodriguez and Tino Zamora.

Starring Robert LaSardo, Dawna Lee Heising, Felissa Rose, Marv Blauvelt, Elissa Dowling, Debra Lamb, Sarah French, Sheri Davis, Dawn Wildsmith, Gary Lee Vincent, and Michael Wainwright.

The scoop:

From the both the trailer and promotional poster it's apparent that the monster in this one looks a lot like the "Creature from the Black Lagoon"!

I did a little online digging, since I fancy myself an amateur Cryptozoologist, and couldn't find any reports of anything murders being linked to a lake monster or Lizard Man at Avocado Lake, a popular swimming hole outside Fresno, California. So, I don't know how accurate the "Based on true cases" remark is? I however did find a story about a Bigfoot sighting at the lake in in 2014, but I don't think that has anything to do with either murders or a lake monster.

Oddly enough nearby Lost Lake has been the sight of many strange occurrences ranging from large creatures being spotted in and around the lake to reports of ghostly children scaring the wits out of locals and tourists alike.

I think "The Legend of Lost Lake" sounds better than "The Legend of Avocado Lake" to me ... but what do I know? Every time I look at it I crave guacamole and I don't know if that's a good sign?

On the positive side Rodriguez has assembled a super sexy cast of femme fatales for his movie including Monster Island News readers favorite Sarah French (aka Scarlet Salem). Now that's something to enjoy chips and guac to!
