And back in Metropolis nothing can ever topple us

Image
From TV Fanatic DC's new streaming service has handed out an order for the series for Metropolis. With Superman is out of the picture, who will it focus on? You're going to want to sit down for this one. It will follow Superman's future significant other, Lois Lane and his future villain, Lex Luthor! Interestingly, it sounds like the two characters will be working together to expose the evil underbelly of the city. Lois and Lex could well be a dynamic duo, but the real test for this show will be the casting. Read More

Zachary Quinto Goes "In Search Of"

Image
From Variety History has greenlit the unscripted series “In Search Of” with Zachary Quinto attached as host and executive producer, the cable network announced Tuesday. Inspired by the iconic 1970s series of the same name, the show will examine unexplained phenomena from all over the world. Each episode will follow Quinto as he investigates a different subject within a dynamic theme – such as alien encounters, mysterious creatures, UFO sightings, time travel and artificial intelligence – and searches for the truth to some of the world’s greatest mysteries. The original “In Search Of” series aired from 1977-1982 and was hosted by Rod Serling and later by Leonard Nimoy following Serling’s death. Ironically, one of Quinto’s most famous roles is playing the younger version of Spock–a character made famous by Nimoy–in the new “Star Trek” film franchise. “I am so excited to be reimagining ‘In Search Of’ and exploring new questions and phenomena with all of the advancements in scienc

Who directs the Watchmen?

Image
From Slash / Film HBO’s Watchmen series comes almost 10 years after Zack Snyder’s 2009 feature film, an exceptionally faithful and stylish but bloated adaptation that opened to mixed reception. Lindelof has previously commented on Snyder’s adaptation, saying that he thought the director did the best he could within a two-hour window: “I think that Zack Snyder made the best possible movie adaptation considering the fact that he was really out to not revise things, the fans really wanted a literal adaptation. That’s exactly what he delivered. He delivered that with an incredible amount of grace and skill. But I think that, for those of us who basically said ‘How do you do Watchmen in a two and a half hour movie?’ He has now answered: ‘This is how.’ You just have to kind of leave it at that. Over time, I think history will basically tell whether the movie was brilliant or less than, but all I can say is how incredibly impressed I personally watching what Zack had accomplished.” N

For Your Approval: Chim Chum and the Portly Samurai

Image
By Adrian Ropp Chim Chum and the Portly Samurai is a weekly all-ages comic adventure written and drawn by Adrian Ropp. It follows the adventures of an as-yet-to-be-named samurai of questionable origins and his silent sidekick, a small fox named Chim Chum. The comic began as a single-panel gag format, but is now following a serialized semi-weekly comic book format. Beginning January 30, 2018, Chim Chum and the Portly Samurai are the stars of their own comic book series from American Mythology Productions. CHIM CHUM Chim Chum the fox is something of an enigma. Little is known about his life before he appeared as the only applicant for the Portly Samuari’s Sidekick Audition. There’s a lot of personality crammed into this small package. Equal parts best friend and main antagonist to the Portly Samurai, Chim Chum seems to enjoy being part of the Dysfunctional Duo. THE PORTLY SAMURAI The Portly Samurai hails from Ancient China, and has a long, sordid past he does not like to t

Avengers: Gotta get back in time

Image
From Slash/Film Avengers 4 remains shrouded in mystery, with not even a title to hint at the plot of the climactic comic book movie. So that has left fans picking apart every photo taken from the Atlanta set of the Marvel Studios film for clues. This has helped to spawn a popular time travel theory which suggests that Thanos’ Infinity Gauntlet fractures the Avengers team, sending them spinning off into different timelines. But a new interview from director Joe Russo, who helms Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4 alongside brother Anthony Russo, may just have debunked that time travel theory. Russo appeared on MTV‘s Happy Sad Confused podcast, where he was inevitably asked about the leaked Avengers 4 sets photo and admitted that leaks come with the job. But Russo was predictably vague about the rumors springing up around those photos, saying, “It’s interesting because photos always leak, and there’s lots of conjecture about what those photos mean.” “Certainly, there is a

The Flash: Children Of Future Past

Image
From TV Guide Well, that mysterious, chatty girl from Barry (Grant Gustin) and Iris' (Candice Patton) wedding made another appearance on The Flash, and now there's an even crazier twist — she can write in the Speed Force code Barry was scribbling in the Season 4 premiere. Obviously we don't know much about this girl other than that she's a sweetheart, a nervous talker, wicked smart and tied to the Speed Force somehow, but all evidence seems to be pointing in a pretty obvious direction — one that we've pointed out before. If she's not the future daughter of Barry Allen and Iris West-Allen, then this has officially been the meanest fake-out The Flash has ever pulled. Not only does she look eerily like Iris, she's also got all of Barry's nervous ticks. Not to mention, she seemed to recognize Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Ralph (Hartley Sawyer) in Jitters. At least, we assume she recognized them thanks to her super unsubtle "total strangers" c

Black Widow: Excitement Starting To Build

Image
From Geek Tyrant Marvel Studio is in full on script development mode for Scarlett Johansson's long-awaited Black Widow movie! To catch up on all that news, click here. One thing is for sure, and that is that fans are excited about what is going to come of this. Now the directors of Avengers: Infinity War have commented on the news, and if you're curious about what they are thinking, Anthony Russo told the Happy Sad Confused podcast that it's "crazy exciting" and Joe Russo added: "Yeah, we're very happy for that. I mean it's such a rich and interesting character. There's so much to explore with a character whose history was as a villain, and you know, Scarlett does such a good job of playing that character and people are so used to that character that you forget the character's history, and so there's a lot of compelling stories to tell about someone who has a dark past." Captain Marvel: I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings Coming down is the hardest thing

Image
From JoBlo There are some truly exciting Marvel movies on the horizon, one of which is CAPTAIN MARVEL, which will finally bring Carol Dancers (Brie Larson), an Air Force pilot who was involved in an accident with an alien which imbued her with the superpowers of strength, energy projection, and flight, into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Production on CAPTAIN MARVEL will be getting underway soon, but Brie Larson has been at the Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada for several days training for the role, and the actress posted the following photo on Instagram to state that she's "learning how to fly." During San Diego Comic-Con last year, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said that CAPTAIN MARVEL would take place in the 1990's and find Carol Danvers battling the Skrulls, a race of alien shapeshifters. Samuel L. Jackson will be reprising his role as Nick Fury, with Jude Law, Ben Mendelsohn, and DeWanda Wise also set to star in the film. As CAPTAIN MARVEL will be ta

Wonder Woman: Another Reason Why The Oscars Are Out Of Touch (Suck)

Image
The nominations for this years Oscars are out ... and surprise, Wonder Woman was snubbed receiving zero nominations. In recent years I have constantly ridiculed the Academy for turning the Oscars into "The Movies That Nobody Has Ever Seen Awards". The roots of this can be traced all the way back to 1977 when the Woody Allen comedy "Annie Hall" won best picture over "Star Wars". Have you ever seen "Annie Hall"? I rest my case. Over the past two years I have fumed over how both "The Force Awakens" and "Rogue One" were given the middle finger by the Academy. Both films were the top grossing films each year respectively, not to mention the fact that Rogue One was an amazing film, yet they were all but ignored when the hardware was handed out. That brings me back to Wonder Woman, which may be the best (or at least one of the best) superhero movies ever. Again the film was a huge hit both at the box office and was heralded

That's So Raven...

Image
By Tim Knight From my first introduction to the New Teen Titans , I've always had a fascination with the mystical Raven, who I always felt had the most interesting backstory (and suite of powers). Really hope Teagan Croft is allowed to do the character justice when she brings her to life in the forthcoming Titans TV show. In the meantime, marvel at some magnificent Raven cosplay in this post.
