Atomic Hits - The Top 10 New Order Songs Of All Time!

New Order is an English rock band that was formed in 1980 by vocalist and guitarist Bernard Sumner, bassist Peter Hook, and drummer Stephen Morris. The band came together after the breakup of Joy Division, following the tragic suicide of lead singer Ian Curtis. Later that same year, they were joined by Gillian Gilbert, who played keyboards.

Atomic Hits - The Top 10 Fleetwood Mac Songs Of All Time!

Fleetwood Mac, a legendary British-American rock band, was formed in London back in 1967. Initially brought together by the talented guitarist Peter Green, the skilled drummer Mick Fleetwood, and the equally talented guitarist Jeremy Spencer, the band began crafting its unique sound. Soon after, bassist John McVie joined the lineup, contributing to their self-titled debut album, which laid the groundwork for their future success. In 1968, the band welcomed Danny Kirwan as a third guitarist, adding even more depth to their music.

It's Friday once again, which means it's time for FLASHBACK Music Friday! This week, we're diving into a collection of the best music from the days of Pac-Man, checkered Vans, and countless hours spent trying to solve a Rubik's Cube. No worries—I managed to solve that puzzle! While everyone else was twisting and turning, swearing, and cursing the folks at Ideal, I, being the genius I am, simply peeled off the colored stickers and rearranged them to get all sides the same color again. Then I tossed it into a box and went back to playing with my Micronauts.

Let’s be honest—when something's a smash hit in pop culture, it almost always demands a sequel. So, who’s shocked that I decided to channel all my creative genius and musical admiration into a follow-up to my super popular playlist, Vital Vinyl? Yes, I proudly present… Vital Vinyl II! Groundbreaking, I know.

New Music Friday - Featuring The Temper Trap, Camp Crush, Monody, Magnetic Skies and Nation of Language

Hello again, music enthusiasts! It's that thrilling time of the week – New Music Friday is upon us, and tonight we’ve got an exhilarating lineup of fresh tunes just waiting for you to discover. It’s always a joy to reminisce, but today, let’s fully immerse ourselves in the present.

Another week is here, and my Flashback Music Friday feature is ready for an encore performance! It seems that my last post, along with my Spotify playlist "Vital Vinyl," was a huge hit with all of you, so who am I to deny my readers what they want? If you want the classics, then you shall have the classics. Today, I’ve curated some real gems. All five of these hits were on heavy rotation on either MTV or FM radio back in the day. If you managed to get through the '80s without hearing these songs or seeing these videos, then it must have been an Amish life for ye. Perhaps you were marooned on a tropical island or living in a cave in the Himalayas with a Yeti and a goat? Unless you were living the good life away from the rest of us, this will be a great trip down memory lane.

(FLASHBACK) Music Friday - Featuring Heart, The Pretenders, Cocteau Twins, The Primitives, and Level 42

It's Friday once more! You know what that means—time for my weekly music feature. Last week, I teased an upcoming "Flashback" piece to go along with my new Spotify playlist, "Vital Vinyl," which is a fantastic mix of tunes from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. Honestly, the new releases today weren’t exactly sparking my interest, so I thought a little trip down memory lane was exactly what the doctor ordered.

New Music Friday - Featuring MODERNS, Fickle Friends, Yumi Zouma, TOPS and Truefaith

I'm back this week with a bunch of exciting new tracks after indulging in a week of musical flashbacks! As I explored the rich sounds of classic rock, I found myself tempted to dive into some legendary bands like RUSH, Van Halen, Boston, and Fleetwood Mac. I’m creating a playlist I’m calling "Vital Vinyl," which is shaping up to be a true “Megalist”—a thrilling collection encompassing several hundred expertly curated songs. You know the type: the kind that you hit play on and let it roll for days, immersing yourself in those feel-good vibes! If you're a fan of tunes from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, I promise this playlist is going to be one of my finest creations yet. I’ll be sure to share it here once it’s completed, but if you're already following me on Spotify, you have an early peek!

(FLASHBACK) Music Friday - Featuring Chvrches, Foster the People, The Preatures, The Temper Trap and Kaiser Chiefs

I hope everyone is doing well! As I mentioned last week, I've decided to take a little break from my new music feature this week. Instead, I’m excited to hop into the Wayback Machine and explore some classic tracks that still hold a special place in our playlists. These songs are truly remarkable, and in my honest opinion, they’ve achieved that timeless quality that makes them worth revisiting.

I was genuinely surprised while putting together this collection to discover that all of these tracks are over a decade old! It’s incredible how quickly time flies, isn’t it? Our musical tastes often have a way of evolving, yet certain songs continue to resonate with us, no matter how many years pass.

Happy Friday, everyone! It’s that time of the week again when I share some of my favorite music picks with you all. I’ve poured quite a bit of time and passion into curating this list of fresh tracks, and I think you’re going to love what I’ve found for you this week.

New Music Friday On A Thursday Because Of A Holiday - The Top Modern Wave Songs For The Week!

 Written By: Ken Hulsy

Hey everyone! Since tomorrow is the 4th of July, I decided to move my new music feature up a day so I can share some historical and patriotic content in honor of our independence. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been focusing on one specific group for these features, but honestly, there’s just so much incredible music out there that I realized I need to widen my scope. So, tonight, I'm excited to present a top five list of songs based on the most listens from last.fm. I had to lean on that external source for this list because, if I had done it myself, it might have been a bit overwhelming.

Let’s start with my top pick from the playlist, which I think of as a modern take on Saint Etienne's 1994 gem, "Like A Motorway." While it might not be brand new, it's definitely a song that will completely blow your mind!

How "The Flow" reflects MTTM’s unique style and sound

Written By Ken Hulsey

There are so many bands out there trying to revive the iconic New Wave sounds of the 1980s and give them a fresh spin for today’s listeners. One group that’s made quite an entrance recently is the German trio MTTM, who just burst onto the scene last year. Many of these bands love to say, “If you’re a fan of Depeche Mode, The Cure, and New Order, then you’ll love us.” And in MTTM's case, that statement definitely holds true!

Why Blister is a must-listen for fans of indie pop | Yumi Zouma

Written By: Ken Hulsey

I’ve been meaning to share my thoughts on Yumi Zouma's latest single, “Blister,” but life got in the way! I’ve been a huge fan of theirs ever since I stumbled upon their album *Truth or Consequences* five years ago. Their song “Truer Than Ever” has been a staple on my Spotify hot list ever since—I just can't get enough of it!
