In 2010, I wrote a series of articles about local legends in Southern California. These articles featured stories about sea monsters, lizard men, UFOs, and, of course, Bigfoot. The series was well received by readers and many of the articles were featured on local websites. In 2012, my wife, Terri, and I concluded the series with a joint effort titled "A Brief History of Bigfoot in Southern California." This piece summarizes many local stories recorded throughout history, dating back to the 1700s. Since its publication, this story has been quoted in numerous articles about Bigfoot and linked to by several cryptozoology websites.

The city of Fontana, located in Southern California, has a rich history in auto racing. As many know, the Auto Club Speedway, situated within the city, hosts a major annual NASCAR race along with other racing events. However, less known is that in the 1950s, the area was home to the renowned Mickey Thompson's Fontana International Dragway, considered one of the premier drag racing venues in the country. The dragway operated for nearly two decades before a series of fatal accidents led to its closure in 1972. Today, the site is occupied by a housing development known as the Village of Heritage, located about a mile east of Etiwanda Boulevard on the north side of Foothill Boulevard.

Earlier this summer, a trio of rescuers encountered an unexplained creature while searching for a missing young female camper in Yavapai County, Arizona. The group, led by a woman named Amber, along with her husband and her husband’s cousin, embarked on their search late at night. As they called out the girl’s name, the stillness of the woods was interrupted by a series of ominous tree knocks. Amber jokingly commented, “Oh hey, it’s Bigfoot!” However, her husband and cousin were not entertained and continued their search.
