Warner Bros Releases New Teaser For Godzilla x Kong Sequel

 It looks like there is an even bigger and nastier giant ape living in the Hollow Earth than Kong!

Warner Bros has just released the first teaser trailer for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire and it features yet another super-sized Simeon that wants to add both Godzilla and Kong to its massive boneyard. 

Little is actually known about the film except that it will be directed by Adam Wingard (Godzilla x Kong) and will star Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Kaylee Hottle, Dan Stevens, Fala Chen and Rachel House. So far both Warner Bros and Legendary have been rather tight lipped about the project only hinting that Godzilla and Kong would, “team up to face a world-ending threat so terrifying that neither could survive alone,” and this trailer seems to show us who that threat is.

To be honest this one looks a little disappointing, I like most Godzilla movie fans were hoping to see more monsters from the original Japanese movie series like Gigan, Biollante or even Anguirus, all of whom have been rumored to be connected with this project.

The First Trailer For 'Lost In Space' Reboot Hits The Mark

Netflix has ordered a 10-episode first season of the one-hour sci-fi drama, from Legendary TV, based on the beloved 1960’s sci-fi classic from Irwin Allen. Reimagined by feature writing team Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless (Dracula Untold, Last Witch Hunter), with Zack Estrin (Prison Break) showrunning, the series will premiere worldwide.

Taking its cues from the original series, the show centers around the Robinson family, who is forced to come together in a time of crisis. Stranded light years from their intended destination, they find themselves battling a strange new alien environment and also their own personal demons. Equal parts family drama and sci-fi adventure, it is a survival story for the ages.



“The original series so deftly captured both drama and comedy, and that made it very appealing to a broad audience. The current creative team’s reimagining of the series for Netflix is sure to appeal to both fans who fondly remember the original and to create a new generation of enthusiasts around the world,” said Cindy Holland, Netflix Vice President of Original Content.

Zack Estrin serves as executive producer alongside writers Matt Sazama & Burk Sharpless; Synthesis Entertainment’s Kevin Burns (The Curse of Oak Island, Ancient Aliens) and Jon Jashni (Godzilla, Pacific Rim); and Applebox’s Emmy®-nominated director Neil Marshall (Game of Thrones, The Descent) and Marc Helwig. Marshall is also set to direct several episodes of the series. Lost in Space is a Legendary TV production for Netflix.

This summer’s blockbuster movie-going season will get a galaxy-sized injection of origin story when Ron Howard’s “Solo: A Star Wars Story” arrives in May, promising to fill in all sorts of backstory-centric questions regarding lovable rogue Han Solo (played here by Alden Ehrenreich). The film has notably taken its time rolling out marketing — last night’s Super Bowl spot was the first official footage to be released, followed quickly by a much longer teaser that expanded upon some of the more intriguing elements of the film.

So what was a young Han Solo like? And how did he become the beloved scoundrel who has for so long been one of the best parts of the “Star Wars” mythos? “Solo” has some ideas, and not all of them appear to hinge on the introduction of other classic characters (though Chewie and Lando are both very much here) and locales (can you count the Millennium Falcon as a single locale?).



The feature has, of course, not been without its controversy. When original directors Chris Miller and Phil Lord were hired to helm the film, it was expected that they’d bring their signature humor and free-wheeling style to “Solo,” an idea that proved out in the worst possible way: they unexpectedly left the project in June, with weeks of production still left.

Howard was announced as the new director of the Han Solo film in late July. “I’m beyond grateful to add my voice to the Star Wars Universe after being a fan since 5/25/77,” he wrote at the time. “I hope to honor the great work already done & help deliver on the promise of a Han Solo film.” In October, he shared on Twitter that the production had finally wrapped.

When I first heard that Godzilla wouldn't be released in Japan until July 25, I thought that was very bizarre. After all, Godzilla is a Japanese creation and it would have been fitting for Japan to have the honor to be first to release the movie theatrically.

Apparently, that was the deal between Godzilla's owners, Toho Co., Ltd. and Legendary Pictures/Warner Bros. Japan is now gearing up to receive the "King of the Monsters" with Toho being the movie's distributor.

The Conquest of the Plan ... I Mean Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Trailer

War is on the horizon in the first TV spot for Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, which you can watch directly below. It doesn't include much, but a few shots of a ravaged Earth and the apes making ready for battle as thier growing nation, led by Caesar (Andy Serkis), is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. Set 15 years after the events of 2011's Rise of the Planet of the Apes, apes and humans have reached a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species. In various human and ape roles the film stars Jason Clarke, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Judy Greer, Toby Kebbell and Enrique Murciano and was directed by Matt Reeves.

"Godzilla" Trailer Premieres Tomorrow

The first Godzilla (2014) trailer will be premiering tomorrow.

According to USA Today:

The first Godzilla trailer premieres online Tuesday (1 p.m. ET/10 a.m. PT) and is attached to The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug starting this weekend. 

Next year marks the 60th anniversary of the atomic-powered mega-beast laying waste to Japan in Toho's 1954 Godzilla, and the new movie harks back to the roots of the original in both look and theme.

One recently journeyed across Middle Earth on a quest to reclaim the Lonely Mountain; the other is about to delight cinema audiences worldwide as loud-mouthed engineer Scotty in JJ Abrams' sci-fi spectacular Star Trek Into Darkness. But Martin Freeman and Simon Pegg's recent encounter on screen took place in a far humbler setting: the fictional British town of Newton Haven.

A Truly Scary Movie You May Have Missed - THE BAY

Yet another addition to the found footage genre, The Bay had the potential to be a tiresome and predictable affair because of how overused the style has become in recent years. However, it’s actually a relatively well made and surprisingly enjoyable, icky little creature feature.

Starting off with a news reporter speaking into a webcam, the film recounts the terrible events that took place in the small fictional bayside community of Claridge, Maryland. During the fourth of July celebrations people start to break out in boils and suffer from violent sickness which, as we soon find out, is the result of some sort of fast-spreading infection.

The main problem with a lot of found footage movies is you’re constantly wondering why in the world the person holding the camera is still filming the events. Smart takes on the style get around that fact and The Bay is one of those.

Instead of it following one set of camera footage throughout which has inexplicably been edited together for our enjoyment and understanding, we see events from a variety of different sources including news footage and even CCTV at points. This not only brings a certain believability to the film but also means there’s almost always something interesting to look at, your eyes darting around the screening soaking in the information and looking for signs of just what the hell is going on.
