J.J. Abrams mysterious monster film, "Cloverfield" may not have inspired masses of people to fill theater seats, but it has inspired a zillion low-budget American film makers to create their own giant monster films. Such a film is Brian Yuzna's giant scorpion flick, "Amphibious". Following in the footsteps of the giant bug films made in the 1950s, "Amphibious" has taken a page out of the journals of "pseudo science" and conjured up a giant arachnid, that for some reason lives under water, instead of on land, like all other scorpions.
Well, lets be fair, there are such things as "sea scorpions", but they don't resemble the average land dwelling variety featured in the film and pictured on the poster.
Generally these films feature week plots and an over abundance of CGI and well.....this one looks like more of the same...unfortunately.
