The first photos from J.J. Abrams reboot of the cult series, "Star Trek" have just begun to surface and already the fans are pissed. Lets face it, taking a beloved series like "Trek" and updating it probably wasn't a good idea in the first place, so the odds of you being able to "recapture" the feel of the original in a way that would make "Trekkies" worldwide happy is about nil to start with.
Here is a brief collection of reactions compiled by TarsTarkas.net:
"Black uniform is stupid, the new bridge looks like an iPod store, Chris Pine has a gigantic forehead, the photo of Spock attacking looks like Sylar is about to feed on Kirk’s brain, Chekov’s hair is dumb, Chekov shouldn’t even be there, the cloth pattern on the uniforms is annoying "
A pissed off looking Spock seems to be strangling someone....what ever happen to pinching them on the shoulder. This Spock seems to favor raw emotion over pure Vulcan logic.
Chekov (Anton Yelchin), Kirk (Chris Pine), Scotty (Simon Pegg), McCoy (Karl Urban), Sulu (John Cho), and Uhura (Zoe Saldana)
Early reactions on this one are not good. If this film has any hope of success then it will need to strike a chord with the core fan-base and so far it hasn't.

I know Abrams wanted to create a movie for people who don't know about the original series, but who doesn't know even a little bit about "Star Trek?!"
Start praying now, Trekkies!
