Simon Pegg is not surprised he has failed to be embraced by Star Trek fans after landing a role in the upcoming Star Trek film, but still hopes to win them over.British actor, Pegg, who has starred in the two back-to-back comedy hits, "Hot Fuzz" and "Shuan of the Dead", has been cast as Scotty in the new movie and has received criticism from sci-fi fans who believe he was miss-cast in the role originally played by late actor James Doohan.
But Pegg is desperate to win them over.
He says, "I am not surprised by their reaction. I think that's because they immediately thought I was there to undermine the franchise having had a background in comedy, but that's not what it's about at all."
