All of us have crossed many bridges in our travels. Usually, we do so without notice, our eyes focused on the end, never taking time to stop and explore the unique experience of the bridge. As the month of November shows up on our calendars, we realize another year is sliding into our "memories" file. November is "the bridge between" here in East Texas. The scorching grip of summer has evaporated, and the chilling fingers of winter have not yet wrapped around us.
Here in our small historic town of Jefferson, we take the time to celebrate this short season.
The cool breezes tickle our hair as we step outside, the leaves are beginning to dance down off the trees, the aroma of pumpkin spice seems to be transitioning into the smell of cinnamon and apple pie, even an occasional rainy day can give you the opportunity to slow down, relax and just enjoy, as you pop into some of our one-of -a-kind boutiques, eateries, specialty shops or museums and discover something new.
Various evenings invite you to experience food, live music, tacos, wine, beer, a movie, a live play, or simply the quiet. Just check into one of our exceptional bed & breakfasts, sit on the porch with your coffee or wine, then slide into a cozy bed and have breakfast waiting for you when morning arrives.
