Four Star Trek Series Collide In IDW's Q Conflict

For the first time ever, the beloved crews of four Star Trek (TM) incarnations – The Original Series, The Next Generation, Deep Space Nine, and Voyager – will be pitted against one another in IDW’s mind-blowing comic book miniseries, Star Trek: The Q Conflict. Debuting in January, this epic six-part event features the writing team of Scott and David Tipton (Star Trek: The Next Generation – Mirror Broken) and art by David Messina (Cloak and Dagger, Star Trek: Countdown).

When a dispute between godlike beings threatens the galaxy, it will take all of Starfleet’s best captains to stop them. James T. Kirk, Jean-Luc Picard, Kathryn Janeway, and Benjamin Sisko must go head-to-head in a competition rigged by the arrogant Q and his nigh-omnipotent cohorts.

“This is it – the biggest Star Trek series ever, spanning starships, centuries, and galaxies!” says Scott Tipton. “All of Starfleet’s most legendary officers join together for the first time against some of the greatest threats they’ve ever faced. It’s like nothing you’ve seen before!”

David Tipton adds, “But it wouldn’t be Star Trek if it wasn’t also about character, and with so many Starfleet legends crossing paths for the first time ever, The Q Conflict will give readers the opportunity to see all their favorite characters in a brand-new light.”

“Being at work on Star Trek: The Q Conflict is like coming home after a five-year mission away,” says David Messina. “To draw characters like Spock and Picard at a time that’s so exciting for the Star Trek franchise? It’s awesome.”

Star Trek: The Q Conflict #1, under license by CBS Consumer Products, will be available with multiple covers: connecting regular covers by David Messina, and retailer incentive variants by George Caltsoudas and J.K. Woodward.

10 Reasons Why Benjamin Sisko Is The Greatest Starfleet Captain

Its a question as old as time…well about as old as 1999. Who is the best Starfleet captain? Are you a hardcore classic purist and always answer James T Kirk, despite all his many questionable actions? Or you all forward thinking and advocate for gender rights and consider Katherine Janeway the best? Perhaps it’s the diplomatic, Shakespearean, Earl Grey-drinking Jean Luc Picard? Or do you like Jonathan Archer because he was Sam Beckett in Quantum Leap?

For me, Captain Benjamin Sisko is the best of the best, but against stiff competition it is going to be a hard case to sell. The single father / Emissary to Bajor / Starfleet captain / military strategist had so much going for him across his seven years in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine that I am confident I have a wealth of example to present.

But in the interest of fairness (and because I feel Picard comes a close second), I’m also going to give me thoughts on what the other four Starfleet captains fared in similar situations. Because any fair case needs both sides to the story.

Are you ready to be convinced? Good. Allow me to present 10 Reasons Why Benjamin Sisko is the greatest Starfleet captain…and as usual a warning to anyone who hasn’t seen Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, I would be discussing key episodes to support my argument so if you plan to watch the show, spoilers beware!

See Chase Masterson Sing At Universal Citywalk For Free

Written By: Ken Hulsey
Source: Chase Masterson

Most fans know Chase Masterson from her role as Leeta on "Star Trek: Deep Space 9" and her numerous movie appearances, but some fans may be surprised to learn that she can sing, and sing beautifully.

Well this next weekend people will be able to discover Chase's magnificent vocal talents for free.

On Staturday July 18th, Chase will be performing live as part of KIIS FM's (Los Angeles) Summer Block Party at the Univeral CityWalk (at Universal Studios, Hollywood). The event starts at 8:00 pm and admission is FREE. That's right gratis.

I have had a chance to personally talk to Chase about her music on two separate occasions. Here are some excerpts from those interviews where she talks about her vocal career:

"I sing the music I love, which are the classic songs of the Golden Era (30s, 40s, 50s). I always loved this music, even when I was a kid, it was all I wanted to listen to."

"This is the music I've always loved ever since I was a little girl. I guess I was about thirteen when I got interested in music of the golden era. It's just really romantic. It's reminiscent of a lovely period of time. I love the lyrics. I love the melodies and they have always been my favorite."

"I was a dancer and a singer in musicals while I was growing up and did a lot of theater. In my early twenties I studied Shakespeare professionally. I am thankful to have a diverse background. I think it helps.(with acting and performing)"
