Very rarely do movie fans get to look into a movie productions workshop while the film is still being made. Well Larry Arpin was good enough to send us a couple of pics from his workshop for "Galactic Raiders."
In these shots you can see both a stop-motion monster model that Larry is working on and his computer where he is adding laser effects to scene.
Actually the lasers are supposed to aimed at the very same monster that is being constructed. This is the second go round for this particular model. The was a problem with the mold from which it was cast, that caused it to have to be remade.
Arpin has been very busy animating sequences and filming backgrounds, including scenes from recent Southern California wildfires.
The film maker admits that he is a few months behind schedule in filming. Reportedly though, he production is under budget, something many independent films haven't been able to achieve.
Kudos go out to Arpin, who has embraced the art of stop-motion for his monsters instead of CGI.
