'Four Weddings And A Funeral' Scribe Richard Curtis To Write For Doctor Who

Spurned by his interest in time travel, and because his kids love the show, "Blackadder" and "Four Weddings And A Funeral" author Richard Curtis has just signed on to write an upcoming episode of the hit BBC sci fi series "Doctor Who."

"It's tremendously good fun and a treat for my children," remarked Curtis.

"These days the things you can watch together as a family are much fewer," he explains, "so when you get something like "Doctor Who" or the "X Factor", it is such a pleasure to sit down as a family".

The prospect of writing about time travel is nothing new to the writer, who coincidentally, has been working on the script for a low-budget film about that very subject for the past few months.

"Maybe it's a desire to get out of being old. Sometimes you do just love the idea that you could go back in time and change things."
