Saddle up space cowboys, Warner Bros have just rounded up Michael Davis and Hollywood Gang Productions (the creative team behind the film '300') to remake the 1981 sci fi film "Outland".
"Outland" originally stared Sean Connery as a space marshal who chooses to stand up to a group of thugs on a remote mining colony on Jupiter's moon IO, instead of retiring and returning home to his family on Earth. The film is considered by most to be a 'space western' that essentially took the premise of the film "High Noon" and moved it from the old west to outer space. A concept that was first utilized in the 1968 Hammer film "Moon Zero Two." In fact, "Outland" and "Moon Zero Two" are similar in many ways, but that's a story for another day.
The script for "Outland" is being penned by Chad St. John (The Days Before) with Gianni Nunnari and Craig J. Flores serving as producers.
