The Made In Dagenham star will play a scientist in the sci-fi flick, according to Deadline.
Sally, 36, is the latest cast member announced for the remake of the cinema classic.
Other actors working on the film include Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Ken Watanabe, David Strathairn, Bryan Cranston and Juliette Binoche.
The giant reptile action film is currently shooting in Canada and is due to be released next year.
Not much is known about what the exact storyline will be, but it's thought director Gareth Edwards wants to give the tale more of a human angle.

And the cast for Legendary Pictures' installment in the long and storied Godzilla franchise continues to fill out as two more have joined the fold of folks who will hopefully either be incinerated via atomic breath or crushed under uber-scaly foot.
Character actors Patrick Sabongui (Shooter, "Supernatural") and Brian Markinson (300, Sucker Punch) have joined the rock-solid cast, which includes Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Richard T. Jones, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, David Strathairn, Juliette Binoche, Akira Takarada, Victor Rasuk, and Ken Watanabe.
Gareth Edwards is directing the film from a screenplay by Max Borenstein, Frank Darabont, and Dave Callaham. Legendary’s Thomas Tull and Jon Jashni are producing with Mary Parent and Brian Rogers. Alex Garcia and Patricia Whitcher are serving as executive producers alongside Yoshimitsu Banno and Kenji Okuhira.
