VIZ Media has announced the highly anticipated DVD release of NARUTO THE MOVIE 2: THE LEGEND OF THE STONE OF GELEL on July 29. The 2-disc set continues the exciting saga of a mischievous young boy training to become a ninja and features 60 minutes of special bonus features. The DVD, rated T for Teens, has an estimated retail price of $29.98.

In the latest feature film, Naruto, Shikamaru and Sakura are in the middle of returning a lost ferret to its owner, supposedly the easiest mission ever. Or so they think! When a young knight, Temujin, attacks them out of nowhere, they are drawn into a fierce struggle over a treasure harboring legendary power – the Stone of Gelel. Temujin's master wants to use the stone's power to create a utopia, while the last of the clan who once controlled the stone wants to keep it sealed away forever. Naruto and the others, along with help from Gaara and Kankuro, must protect the stone from those who want to misuse its power. When the dream of utopia becomes a nightmare, it'll take a ninja to set things right!

Several never-before-seen bonus segments on NARUTO THE MOVIE 2 include a feature on “Creating the World of Naruto 2” and one on how to “Write and Adapt Like a Ninja,” plus “Words From Japan,” “Production Art Gallery,” “Original Storyboards,” and the “Original Japanese Movie Trailers.” In addition, the disc contains a director’s commentary track and a trailer for the upcoming third NARUTO movie, Naruto the Movie 3: Guardians of the Crescent Moon Kingdom, which will be released by VIZ Media in the near future.

Is Robert Carlyle Going To Be The Next Doctor?

Hold on to your Tardis everyone! It is rumored that "Trainspotting" star Robert Carlyle is in negotiations to replace David Tennant on "Doctor Who" for the shows fifth season in 2010. It has long been rumored that the fan-fave Tennant has wanted off the show and at this point all indications point to fellow Scotsman, Carlyle, being on top of the list of candidates to replace him. Further fueling these rumors was the news that the internationally popular series was taking a sort of mini-hiatus in 2009, with only four television movies scheduled to be shot during the year, an indication to some that Tennant may be searching for other projects. At this time, however, everyones lips are sealed, and there have been no official announcements.

Carlyle, himself, has been keeping mum about the rumor, even though the press has begun grilling him for info. He recently made a very short comment about taking on the iconic role, "Would I do it? Possibly."

I, like most fans, will have a tough time accepting anyone else besides Tennant as The Doctor. You do have to admit that Carlyle kinda looks like Tom Baker in the above photo though. When I think about it, all I can see in my head is Carlyle as Francis Begbie in "Trainspotting". Do you think that the Doctor might take on a tougher demeanor in season 5? Will he start getting into bar fights and organizing scag deals? Well...probably not, but one can only imagine this kind of dialogue in future episodes of "Doctor Who":

The Doctor: Did you bring the cards?
Donna: What?
The Doctor: The cards, the last thing I told you was to mind the cards!
Donna: Well, I've not brought them.
The Doctor: It's f**king boring after a while traveling through time without the cards.
Donna: I'm sorry.
The Doctor: Bit f**king late, like.
Donna: Why didn't *you* bring them?
The Doctor: 'CAUSE I F**KING TOLD YOU TO BRING THEM, YOU DOSS C**T!
Donna: ...Christ.
