The Triumphant Return Of Monsterislandnews.com!
Written By: Ken Hulsey
Way back in 1999 I started a little website called Kensforce.com. In it's early days the site featured everything from Godzilla movies to football. Generally everything that suited my fancy. In 2003 the name was changed to Monster Island News to help draw more fan attention to the page. Over the next decade the website mutated into a database for movies, television and B movie news. The site gathered many fans and inspired a new generation of webmasters to develop their own sites, blogs and message boards. Sadly in 2007 the site closed and moved to the blog format you are reading now.
I am happy to report that about a month ago I relaunched the Monster Island News website and began building more movie profiles much like the original pages from the original site.

THE DAY THE
EARTH STOOD STILL
A perfect example of what can be
achieved when Science Fiction
cinema is approached in a serious
and mature manor is the 1951
classic "The Day The Earth Stood
Still". Made in the early 50s,
before the atomic monster boom
and sensationalised alien invasion
films became the staples of the
genre, "TDTESS" is arguably the
best Science Fiction movie ever
produced.

PLANET OF THE
APES
In 1966 Franklin J. Schaffner had
purchased the rights to what he
thought would make excellent
movie. Pierre Boulle's novel "La
Planete des singes." He peddled
the idea to almost every studio in
Hollywood, but nobody wanted
anything to do with his "Monkey
Planet."

Most movie fans are more
than familiar with Mel Brook's
1974 comedy/western

town of Rock Ridge. Though
the rest of the cast was filled
by Hollywood icons such as
Madeline Kahn and Slim
Pickens there were two
exceptions, one being ex
Detroit Lions tackle Alex
Karras as Mongo and adult
magazine model Robyn Hilton
as the busty secretary of the
wacky Governor William J.
