Dynamite Entertainment Developing A New Barbarella Comic Book Series

Dynamite Entertainment is proud to announce that Barbarella's first ever comic series, timed this coming Fall to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the legendary heroine, will feature the writing talents of industry legend Mike Carey (Ultimate Fantastic Four, X-Men, Lucifer). Additionally, Jean-Marc Lofficier - longtime custodian of the Barbarella brand - will join Carey as supervisor on the project.

Filming on the sequel to Gareth Edwards amazing re imagining of Godzilla (2014) has been taking place in Atlanta now for just over two weeks and the first on set photos have leaked out. Not much can be seen in any of the pics, all they contain are images of Warner Bros trailers and cars in all sorts of disrepair. It's the usual collateral damage stuff that exists in every single giant monster movie since 1933 when King Kong decided that he didn't like the civilized world very much and went ... well ape.

In the year 1980, a secret military organization named SHADO (Supreme Headquarters Alien Defence Organisation) becomes operational. Its purpose is to defend the Earth from Aliens who've been coming to Earth and kidnapping humans. It is believed that these Aliens are a dying race, and are transplanting human body parts to extend their own lifespans.

SHADO's main headquarters is hidden beneath a film studio near London England. SHADO also has a base on the moon (Moonbase) and a fleet of submarines (Skydiver). Incoming UFO's are initially detected by an Earth orbiting satellite named SID (Space Intruder Detector). An initial interception attempt is made in space with three Interceptor craft launched from Moonbase. "The Brain That Wouldn't Die" Being Remade In Oregon - First Images

The 2016 remake of the same name, The Brain That Wouldn't Die is a satirical take on the story, utilizing both the intentional and unintentional comedic elements of the original, while bolstering the characters and plot. Directed by Derek Carl and written by Hank Huffman, the team behind the short film Bad Seed (2015) and the upcoming web series Y2K 2000 (2016), the remake proudly wears its influences on its sleeve, from the colorful gore-fest Re-Animator to the exceedingly funny The Man with Two Brains.

The film will be shot in Portland, Oregon, with a local cast and crew.

Quark is an American science fiction situation comedy starring Richard Benjamin broadcast on NBC. The pilot first aired on May 7, 1977, and the series followed as a mid-season replacement in February 1978. The series was cancelled in April 1978. Quark was created by Buck Henry, co-creator of the spy spoof Get Smart.

The show was set on a United Galaxy Sanitation Patrol Cruiser, an interstellar garbage scow operating out of United Galaxies Space Station Perma One in the year 2226. Adam Quark, the main character, works to clean up trash in space by collecting "space baggies" with his trusted and highly unusual crew.

In its short run, Quark satirized such science fiction as Star Wars, 2001: A Space Odyssey and Flash Gordon. Three of the episodes were literal satires of Star Trek episodes.

The series won one Emmy Award nomination, for costume designer Grady Hunt's work in the episode "All the Emperor's Quasi-Norms, Part 2".

Darna - Whatever You Do Don't Call Her Wonder Woman

If you really want to piss off a Filapino comic book fan compare that countries uber-famous superhero, Darna, with Wonder Woman. Trust me I did that in one of my articles and I caught an ear full from a die-hard fan.

In my defense, however, the only photos I saw of Darna were from a movie version produced by Viva Films. As I was informed by the for mentioned fan that was a cheaply made film that did indeed copy Wonder Woman but all other incarnations of the character differ from her in numerous ways.

Darna's appearence may somewhat resemble that of Wonder Woman but her powers were actually modeled after Superman.

Darna has always been able to fly, an ability that Wonder Woman originally did not possess.

Even though Darna wears large metal bracelts, she doesn't need them to stop bullets and the like. Her skin is unpenetratable barrier just like Superman. Projectiles bounce right off of her.
