It appears that the U.S. Representative for New York's 14th congressional distric, Ocasio-Cortez, has never seen a garbage disposal before and the thought of it scares her to death.
From Market Watch:
‘I am told this is a garbage disposal. I’ve never seen a garbage disposal. I never had one in any place I’ve ever lived. It is terrifying. I don’t know what it’s for, or what its purpose is. Like, food scraps? Like, is this environmentally sound?’

That’s New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez exploring the perks of her “bougie” D.C. apartment, and, at the same time, reminding her vast social-media following of her hardscrabble upbringing.

Ocasio-Cortez has previously been criticized for transparent attempts at cultivating her image as a poor girl from the Bronx. Newsmax host John Cardillo called her out last year for misleading the American people about her childhood.

I wonder if she really thinks she's supposed to put her trash in there?
She really believes the world is going to end in twelve years so knowing how the sewer system or water filtration plants work would be way above her pay grade.
