The residents of Los Angeles have had enough! We’re sick and tired of the lies, the misinformation, and the complete lack of transparency from Mayor Bass and the elected officials who refuse to take responsibility for their catastrophic failures. They won’t even answer our questions about the mistakes that led to chaos when fires raged through Southern California just a year ago. These officials let reservoirs meant for fire suppression run dry. When our brave firefighters tried to turn on hydrants, they either didn’t work or were bone dry themselves. Our resources were stretched too thin, all because of budget cuts, leaving us short on firefighters and necessary equipment.

California Governor Wants To Increase Health Care Coverage For Illegal Aliens
In California Gov. Gavin Newsom's 2019-20 budget plan, he suggests spending nearly $260 million to provide health care to illegal immigrants aged 19 to 25. But where would this money come from? According to the Sacramento Bee, his plan could siphon public health dollars that would otherwise be going towards the treatment of STD's, and even measles outbreaks.
As of May 1, there have been 40 confirmed cases of measles in California.
Providing more health coverage for undocumented immigrants is expensive, and would likely force other existing health clinics to close "at a time when we now have measles cases in the region and we don't want to be shutting those services down," Dr. Peter Beilenson, the county Health Services Director said.
Why would Newsom want to provide more money to immigrants? California already allows undocumented children to participate in Medi-Cal until they're 19... And while the federal government usually helps with the costs Medicaid, California wouldn't have that luxury due to it's large population.
According to director of Placer County's Health and Human Services Department Jeff Brown, moving around the state money "would exacerbate our already limited capacity to respond to outbreaks and public health emergencies."
Newsom is expected to have a revised budget ready by May 14. The state legislature will vote on it this summer.
“I hope there will be some reconsideration,” state Sen. Richard Pan (D-Sacramento), chairman of the Senate Health Committee said.

Ocasio-Cortez Terrified By The "Environmental Monster" In Her Sink ... Her Garbage Disposal
It appears that the U.S. Representative for New York's 14th congressional distric, Ocasio-Cortez, has never seen a garbage disposal before and the thought of it scares her to death.
From Market Watch:
‘I am told this is a garbage disposal. I’ve never seen a garbage disposal. I never had one in any place I’ve ever lived. It is terrifying. I don’t know what it’s for, or what its purpose is. Like, food scraps? Like, is this environmentally sound?’
Barf me out
Gag me with a spoon!
(Okay I added that last part ... continue)
That’s New York Democrat Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez exploring the perks of her “bougie” D.C. apartment, and, at the same time, reminding her vast social-media following of her hardscrabble upbringing.
Here’s the clip:
Apparently AOC doesn’t know what a garbage disposal is or what it’s used for according to her latest Instagram story. pic.twitter.com/H2i2dFWpkD— Courtney Holland 🇺🇸 (@hollandcourtney) May 7, 2019
Ocasio-Cortez has previously been criticized for transparent attempts at cultivating her image as a poor girl from the Bronx. Newsmax host John Cardillo called her out last year for misleading the American people about her childhood.

I wonder if she really thinks she's supposed to put her trash in there?
She really believes the world is going to end in twelve years so knowing how the sewer system or water filtration plants work would be way above her pay grade.
Star Wars The Last Jedi Targeted By Russian Trolls ... Clueless Much?
Wow you wanna talk about a ridiculous article. Check out this New York Post bit about how (allegedly) Russian trolls are responsible for the negative press surrounding "The Last Jedi" citing that they were attempting to "sow political discord" (?).
Talk about clueless. The Last Jedi is one of the worst movies of all time and I'm sure the negative backlash wasn't spawned by Russians trying to influence our political system.
They just won't let this crap go will they?
If you want a laugh read on:
From the New York Post
The “Last Jedi” was taken down by the ultimate Sith Lord — Darth Putin.
The 2017 installment of the “Star Wars” franchise was reputedly widely panned by fans online — but much of the criticism was actually coming from Russians trying to sow political discord, a new study has found.
“A number of these users appear to be Russian trolls,” researcher Morten Bay found.

Bay analyzed all the angry tweets sent to director Rian Johnson over seven months immediately following the film’s release.
The negative reaction was split into three groups: those with a political agenda, trolls and real fans.
“Overall, 50.9 percent of those tweeting negatively were likely politically motivated or not even human,” said Bay, a research fellow and Ph.D. candidate at USC.
Out of the 206 negative tweets, 33 were sent by trolls and/or “sockpuppets” — a fake identity used for deception — Bay found. Among the trolls, 16 accounts appeared to be Russian.
One of the accounts believed to belong to a Russian troll tweeted Johnson 13 times over three weeks that he had “ruined Star Wars.”
The purpose of the nefarious anti-Jedi plot appeared to be the same as it was during the 2016 US election: to further propagate “a narrative of widespread discord and dysfunction in American society,” Bay writes.
Bay was able to pinpoint the Russian bots by using other papers describing the patterns of Moscow’s social-media influence during the American presidential contest and the UK’s Brexit campaign.
In his paper, “Weaponizing the Haters: The Last Jedi and the strategic politicization of pop culture through social media manipulation,” Bay argues that the real response to the flick was actually much more positive.
“Organized attempts at politicizing the pop culture discourse on social media for strategic purposes are significant enough that users should be made aware of these measures, so they can act accordingly,” Bay warns.
The abstract of the paper was posted on ResearchGate Monday. It has yet to be published.
Since its release last December, the “Last Jedi” raked in $1.3 billion in worldwide box office take, becoming the second highest-grossing film in the franchise.
President Trump Eats A Baby
Internet Headlines Made Easy
Okay everyone let's learn a few simple tips on how to construct a news headline for a story on Yahoo! or pretty much any other media news website. First you start of with a true statement. Here is an example:
"President Trump Eats A Plate of Baby Back Ribs."
Seems pretty innocent right? Okay, now we need to put a spin on this to make the President look bad. Let's remove a couple of words from that Headline ... Ah, lets remove "Plate", "of", "Back", and "Ribs." Let's see what we have left:
"President Trump Eats A Baby."
Okay now that's the kind of headline that will cause anger in your average Joe. It will also get a tone of people to click on it. See, it's not that hard. Now you know!
Professor Godzilla Uses Monster Movies To Teach Politics
Finally a class I would love to take!
From Anime News Network
Hiroshi Ito, a media studies professor at Wakayama Shin-ai Women's Junior College in Wakayama, is taking a different approach to teaching Japan's constitution and anti-war ideals this semester. Ito began teaching a class on April 26 that explains the constitution through the Godzilla film series.
Ito said, "I want students to examine how Japanese society that surrounds the constitution has transformed, using images from the Godzilla series of films that spans more than 60 years." Since the original film debuted during Japan's early postwar period in 1954, TOHO has produced 29 live-action Godzilla films. The most recent, Shin Godzilla, debuted under the direction of Hideaki Anno and Shinji Higuchi in 2016. The franchise is also inspiring an anime film trilogy, and the second film, Godzilla: Kessen Kidō Zōshoku Toshi, will open in Japan on May 18.
With Japanese politicians currently discussing amendments to the constitution, Ito believes "it is critical for people to know first what's in and around the constitution." Since adopting its current constitution in 1947 after the end of World War II, Japan has had only a Self-Defense Force and no official military. However, current Prime Minister of Japan Shinzō Abe and other members of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party want to amend the war-renouncing Article 9 of the constitution and restore the country's military.
As Ito's class explains, the original "Godzilla (films) started as an anti-nuclear, anti-war project." The original film sends a strong anti-nuclear message with its title monster awakened by a hydrogen bomb. The film's message references real-world events, such as the the United States' bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Ito is a fan of the Godzilla franchise, and came up with the idea for the class after seeing Shin Godzilla and its success. In the film, the United States suggests a nuclear strike because other attempts to stop the monster have been ineffective. Although Japanese efforts prevent the use of nuclear weapons in the end, Ito sees the film as contrasting the franchise's initial anti-nuclear message. He said, "These things were now taken for granted, and it worried me."
Ito hopes to pique students' interest with Godzilla in order to educate them about the full significance of Japan's constitution, including its Article 9, and its influence on the now pacifist country. Toward that aim, the college course will show scenes from the film franchise related to peace and the constitution.

Everybody in California isn't in favor of providing sanctuary to Illegal Aliens
Despite what the loonies in Sacramento think, everybody in California isn't in favor of providing sanctuary to Illegal Aliens.
Form the OC Register
The anti-sanctuary movement is gaining momentum.
On Thursday, three days after Los Alamitos made national news by launching a city ordinance to defy California’s so-called sanctuary law, two Orange County supervisors plan to introduce measures that range from a county resolution similar in spirit to the ordinance passed in Los Alamitos, to filing a lawsuit against the state.
Meanwhile, Los Alamitos Mayor Troy Edgar has created a GoFundMe page to help his city pay legal expenses that figure to come when the city is sued by pro-immigrant and civil-rights groups. Edgar hopes his page, called “Mayor Edgar’s — Stop Sanctuary Law,” will raise $100,000.
“We’re getting an outpouring of support from across the country and the nation. People are offering to help with legal costs for little Los Alamitos,” said Edgar, who said he has received more than 5,000 emails since the council’s 4-1 vote Monday night to exempt the city from a state law that protects immigrants living illegally in the country.

New Poll Proves That Americans See The Democratic Party As A Party With No Message
From The Daily Caller
Remember when the Democratic Party actually used to stand for something?
According to a new poll by The Washington Post and ABC, over half of Americans believe the current Democratic Party doesn’t stand for anything besides resisting President Trump.
The poll asked 1,001 Americans, “Do you think the Democratic Party currently stands for something, or just stands against Trump?”
Only 37 percent of respondents believed that the Democratic Party “stands for something,” while 52 percent of respondents said the party “just stands against Trump.”
The apparent messaging problem was even starker among registered voters, of which only 35 percent felt the Democrats stand for something while 54 percent felt they only stand against Trump.
The poll was taken between July 10-13 and surveyed more Democrats than Republicans. 35 percent of respondents identified themselves as Democrats, 23 percent as Republicans, and 35 percent as Independent.
