2 Timothy 4:6-18 paints a vivid picture of Paul’s unwavering courage in the face of trials. He faced opposition from religious leaders, endured mistreatment by magistrates, and was surrounded by hostile crowds. Yet, amidst these challenges, he remained steadfast. How did Paul find such strength? We can turn to his own words for insight. He admitted to the Corinthians that he approached them in weakness, speaking with fear and trembling (1 Corinthians 2:3). He even shared that he felt overwhelmed, pushed beyond what he could bear (2 Corinthians 1:8). There was a time when his fear was so intense that an angel had to come to him with a message of reassurance (Acts 27:24).
