It looks like director Guillermo del Toro will be tinkering with Jrr Tolkien's original story a little bit when he brings "The Hobbit" to the big screen.
Dominic Monaghan, who played Merry in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, is certain that he and co-stars Elijah Wood, Sean Astin and Billy Boyd will be reprising their roles in the film.
It doesn't seem to matter that none of the characters appeared in Tolkien's original novel.
Monaghan explains, "We're not in The Hobbit, no, but I think the idea in (the producers') heads is that the trilogy of the Lord Of The Rings films was so beloved by the fans that they're really keen to try to say thank you for the support that they gave to the Lord Of The Rings movies and possibly bring back some of those characters that they know and love."
"They really want us to come back, and I think there's a really strong chance that we might be back. "
Ah, heck! Who follows classic stories anymore? Why don't we throw in some dinosaurs too? People love dinosaurs! Look at how much money those "Jurassic Park" movies made!
