Exotic actress Anna Friel, who was the only thing worth looking at in "Land of the Lost", is setting her sights on portraying "Wonder Woman" on the big screen. Joss Whedon's big screen remake of the popular TV series that starred Lynda Carter as the crime fighting Amazon princess, has been an on-again-off-again affair, which reportedly is back on again.
Friel can add her name to a long list of "Wonder Woman" wannabees, including Megan Fox, Eliza Dushku and singer Beyonce Knowles. Back when the film was first announced back in 2007 Jessica Biel and Katie Holmes were considered the favorites for the part. Holmes even went as far as to have a private audition for the coveted role, but nothing ever came from it.
Friel told People magazine at the premiere for "Land of the Lost" that the part would fulfill her childhood fantasies,"Everyone wanted to be Wonder Woman. I had Wonder Woman pyjamas."
"Wonder Woman" sleepwear or not, it is Dushku that has the endorsement of the woman who made the role famous, Lynda Carter, the actress recently commented on the potential casting stating, "Eliza would make a great Wonder Woman."
When the former "Wonder Woman" is in your corner you can bank on the film makers taking notice.
