What an ending! Wow! I know Russell T Davies promised a cliff-hanger ending for each episode, but blowing Captain Jack into a million pieces? That one caught me off guard.
Now, we all know that good old Jack is immortal, but how does he survive this? Does he reassemble himself like the T-1000 in "Terminator 2" or something?
I thought the first episode was brilliant, and I can't wait for tonight!
It was good that the series started kinda slow, getting the viewer reacquainted with the characters again. It was good to see the interaction between the two couples involved, Jack with Ianto and Gwen with Rhys. The characters have really evolved nicely since the first season.
I have to agree with some of the other reviews I've read online, "Children of Earth" has a real "X-Files" feel to it, which I love.
The children all stopping, several times, all repeating the phrase "We are coming", then screaming in unison, very effective. I had seen that a hundred times in the commercials, and it still had an impact.
This looks as if it will be the hallmark sci fi series event for the BBC.
