The Mouse Factory is banking on the idea that if a movie based on one of their Disneyland attractions can be a hit, so can a movie based on an entire section of the park. Presently the studio is developing a space-fantasy -adventure film based on "Tomorrowland." You know the section of Disneyland with "Star Tours", Space Mountain", and of course "Red Rockett's Pizza Port."
The studio is also banking that "Tomorrowland" star, ex-wrestler turned family movie actor, Dwayne Johnson, (The Rock) will be as charming and charismatic as Johnny Depp. Johnson, who starred in the hit movie "The Game Plan" and most recently completed "Race to Witch Mountain" must have been able to rely on his recent family movie success enough to convince The Mouse's executives that he was the right guy for the main role in what might be a successful movie franchise.
Disney denies that the film, which is being written by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, has even been titled "Tomorrowland" or will even be dedicated to the park’s section, a futuristic area of the Magic Kingdom, which means it more than likely will be exactly what the film will be based on.
