Directer Brett Kelly is keeping himself busy these days by working on a remake of the 1959 "cult-classic" Roger Corman film, "Attack of the Giant Leeches." The Canadian born Kelly already has a vast collection of "low-budget" films in his resume including, The Bone Setter, Final Curtain, and My Dead Girlfriend. This modern take on the imfamous public domain classic was written by Jeff O'Brien and stars Mark Courneyea, Kevin Preece, Kerri Draper, Barry Caiger, and Shawna McSheffrey.
B movie fans will recall that the original "Leeches" was a delightfully cheesy mix of gratuitous skin shots and men in rubber suites. This modern version, at least from the outset, looks like it may be more of the same. The above photo kinda tells the whole story, it shows some bikini clad young ladies being terrified by something off screen.......probably by a Leech or one it's victims.
Hot girls in bikinis, giant rubber suited monsters......you know in my mixed up little mind that equals a winning movie combination.....will it fly with the rest of the movie going populous...only time will tell.?
