It Is Romans Vs Monsters In Mortis Rex

Written By: Ken Hulsey

Doesn't it seem like every movie studio, large or small, is making monster movies these days?

Isn't it wonderful!

"Hellboy" co-writer Peter Briggs is presently working on a monster movie of his own entitled, "Mortis Rex", which will feature Roman soldiers battling a giant monster. So far the film has been described by some as "300" meets "Cloverfield." From the films synopsis it is fair to assume that would be a fair comparison.

Oh...and before I forget..."Mortis Rex" is Latin for "King Of Death."

Cool Huh!

Here is your official synopsis:

"MORTIS REX" is an Ancient Rome monster movie. In 123 AD, a disgraced Roman war hero is sent to defend a Roman garrison stationed in remote Scotland from a spate of mysterious killings. The hero reclaims his rightful warrior status by uniting with the local Druids and vanquishing a terrifying supernatural beast.A terrifying, fantastical action movie in the vein of BROTHERHOOD OF THE WOLF.
