Director Quentin Tarantino hinted way back in 2004 that he may someday make a third film in his "Kill Bill" series, and according to actress Uma Thurman, who played the films lead character, The Bride, that day is coming very quickly.
Tarantino's first two "Bill" movies, the directors homage to both classic westerns and obscure Japanese martial arts films, were big hits worldwide.
Now, the outspoken movie maker is sitting down and hammering out a screenplay, and has consulted with Thurman about what he plans to do story wise.
Thurman remarks, "We did chat. He has not yet finished the script. I don't even really know if he's really started it, although I got a taste of some of his ideas and they are really good. He has started to share with me what he was thinking, and it's awesome."
What can we expect to see in "Kill Bill 3"?
Well, during interviews for "Kill Bill 2", Tarantino speculated that it would be cool if the roles were reversed and that The Bride would become the one being hunted, possibly by the daughter of Deadly Viper Assassination Squad member Vernita Green, who saw her mother killed by Thurman's character.
That would jive with Thurman's remarks about the new film taking place ten years after the events of the prior two films. In that case, Green's daughter would be a teenager.
Reportedly Tarentino is looking for a 2014 release for "Kill Bill 3".

Awesome news, I can't wait.
ReplyDeleteI WANT THIS TO HAPPEN! If I am correct, KB Vol. 1 and 2 were my first Tarantino films and Vol. 1 was my first rated "R" film. I still remember seeing Kill Bill Vol. 1 for the first time. Watching it off of PPV with my mother in her bedroom. That film was magical. Never has a film dealing with Japanese material affected me so untill I saw Satomi Hakken Den. I hope a Part 3 gets released. Plus maybe the release of a "part 3" can also call for the "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair" to be released. This is awesome news. Plus maybe a video game will be made, since the one for KB Vol. 1 was droped for no reason...
