The residents of Los Angeles have had enough! We’re sick and tired of the lies, the misinformation, and the complete lack of transparency from Mayor Bass and the elected officials who refuse to take responsibility for their catastrophic failures. They won’t even answer our questions about the mistakes that led to chaos when fires raged through Southern California just a year ago. These officials let reservoirs meant for fire suppression run dry. When our brave firefighters tried to turn on hydrants, they either didn’t work or were bone dry themselves. Our resources were stretched too thin, all because of budget cuts, leaving us short on firefighters and necessary equipment.
Despite clear warnings from the National Weather Service about impending dry conditions and high winds, these officials did nothing! They ignored the signs of the perfect firestorm that was barreling down on us. And let’s not forget Mayor Bass’s complete neglect when she decided to jet off on a trip to Guanaa while our city was left to fend for itself! This was a failure at every level, yet no one is stepping up to take the blame. The Palisades Fire was a devastating disaster, destroying 6,837 structures and taking 12 lives. The Eaton Fire in Altadena was even worse, demolishing 9,000 structures and snuffing out 15 lives. We deserve better than this negligence! It's time for accountability!
