The residents of Los Angeles have had enough! We’re sick and tired of the lies, the misinformation, and the complete lack of transparency from Mayor Bass and the elected officials who refuse to take responsibility for their catastrophic failures. They won’t even answer our questions about the mistakes that led to chaos when fires raged through Southern California just a year ago. These officials let reservoirs meant for fire suppression run dry. When our brave firefighters tried to turn on hydrants, they either didn’t work or were bone dry themselves. Our resources were stretched too thin, all because of budget cuts, leaving us short on firefighters and necessary equipment.

Today In History: Orson Welles Scares The Crap Out Of America With Famous "War of the Worlds" Radio Broadcast
Written By Ken Hulsey
In my opinion, the broadcast of H.G. Wells' classic novel "War of the Worlds," directed by Orson Welles and his talented Mercury Theater team, is one of the most fascinating moments in human history. It can be challenging for us to understand how this unique radio performance incited widespread panic, with many listeners convinced that Martians were genuinely invading Earth. Yet that’s precisely what happened.

This has been a profoundly sentimental week for me. It all started when I discovered that an old friend from my church congregation used to live in my hometown of Whittier, California. Before the first service, I found myself reminiscing about the local landmarks with her, which stirred up a deep sense of homesickness. From that point on, everything I encountered seemed to trigger memories of my California roots. It probably doesn't help that I frequently wander around Louisiana wearing my Dodgers baseball cap.
