Star Wars Cast Member Accidentally Reveals The Return Of Luke Skywalker!

Please don't mistake this post for any interest on my part in Star Wars Episode IX. I have no intent on seeing it but I'm posting this for all the wayward fans who may still be holding on to the hope that the last Star Wars sequels my somehow save what has so far been a horrible storyline.

One would think that reading the script for a new Star Wars movie would be a thrilling privilege. But it might be more terrifying than exciting. 

So thinks Domhnall Gleeson, anyway, who recently appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and reflected on his feelings after he read the script, which include mostly dread. Not because of anything in the script, mind you, but because he’s afraid of spoiling it.

“I made the terrible mistake of reading the script, I know everything,” he said.

“The nightmare is falling asleep on public transport … The nightmare is you wake up on a plane and someone’s dictating. You wake up and your mouth is shaping words, you wake up and you’re like, ‘Skywalker did this.’ And then you realise you don’t know how long you’ve been speaking, and there’s a kid filming, there’s somebody writing it down. And because you’re in the air, you say, ‘We need to have a talk before we land, I can access my bank account.’”

This is just another entry in the fascinating saga of modern script secrecy, and the stress it undoubtedly causes everyone on a production. Spoilers are a big deal, enough so that an actor spoiling a big movie can become an internet sensation, and that many actors just aren’t even given the script to read in the first place.

I don’t blame Gleeson for being nervous. Maybe, for a while, he should avoid the train. Just in case.

I think many of you clued into the line "Skywalker did this". It looks like Domhnall may have done exactly what he was scared of doing by accidentally revealing a major plot point.

Poor guy will never get any sleep now.

...Oz pleads ignorance on Lucasfilm’s plans but discusses his thoughts on the possible movie.

It won’t be a puppet. Believe me. That’s way too difficult for me. I rehearse a long time just to do one line of dialogue as a puppeteer. It would have to be CGI.

Even though the puppet variation is vintage Yoda and my favorite, I’m down for the return of the CGI version. In fact, the prequel Yoda was done flawlessly and seeing a younger version of the Jedi Master would be loads of fun.

For years, even the homeworld of Yoda’s been kept under wraps, but I’m okay letting the secret out of the bag. More Star Wars and more Yoda is a positive thing. Plus, it may be a fun way to introduce other storylines from a galaxy far, far away; a period currently untapped within the Star Wars canon.

When Yoda is teaching Luke in The Last Jedi on failure, he’s no doubt talking from personal experience. Seeing Yoda fail as a young Jedi would add even more layers to an already complex galaxy.

STAR WARS’ iconic villain Jabba The Hutt is allegedly making a return in the upcoming Solo movie.

The Han Solo prequel will reportedly introduce fans to Jabba and reveal why the beast has such a problem with Han in the original trilogy.

According to a new report, the appearance was being kept a closely guarded secret by bosses.

“It’s a huge secret but Jabba is returning to the Star Wars universe,” a source told The Sun.

"Fans will learn why Han ended up owing him so much money.”

They added: "Yoda was brought back for The Last Jedi and now Disney wants to bring back another legacy character.

“Jabba is so synonymous with the franchise.”

Jabba was famously strangled to death by Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia in Return of the Jedi, one of the most iconic movie moments of all time.

Solo is due out in May and stars Alden Ehrenreich as the character made famous by Harrison Ford.

He is joined by Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson among others.

Ron Howard took the reigns as director following the controversial dismissals of Phil Lord and Chris Miller mid-way through production.

Solo: A Star Wars Story - Look Who's Coming To Dinner ... Maybe

Something that could become a big rumor following the logically minded speculation of Nerdist News that Ewan McGregor could appear in Solo: A Star Wars Story. The actor is possibly reprising his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi for that character's own future standalone spin-off, but perhaps we'll first get a tease of that with a cameo appearance this summer.

The theory stems partly from McGregor sporting an Obi-Wan-like beard at awards shows last week and partly from the idea that such an appearance could help lure audiences into what's been publicly seen as a problem-ridden production. Yes, Nerdist News host Jessica Chobot acknowledges this is still razor-thin guesswork. But she says:

"Either Ewan is performing the most 'notice me Senpai' move in the history of films, or something's up. Solo is having another round of reshoots later this month. The timing of a recent very-Obi-Wan-looking McGregor attempting to get into shape while simultaneously trying to reinsert himself in the Star Wars news cycle could be a sign that we'll be seeing him make a surprise cameo in the film."

They offer a suggestion for how Obi-Wan could fit into the story considering he clearly had never met Han Solo before the Mos Eisley scene in the original Star Wars. There's no indication that Chewbacca hadn't previously meet the Jedi master -- the Wookie even fought alongside Yoda years prior as seen in Revenge of the Sith -- and was actually introducing Han to Obi-Wan.

The Star Wars universe is on a seemingly unstoppable roll at the moment, and that looks set to continue well into the future. After the smashing success of Star Wars: The Last Jedi, not to mention Rogue One and The Force Awakens, Lucasfilm has already begun making plans for their next spinoff, one which will revolve around none other than Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Stephen Daldry is in talks to direct and from what we understand, the project is still without a script and in the very, very early stages of development. As such, it’s unclear if Ewan McGregor will pick up the lightsaber for this Star Wars offshoot, though given how keen the Scot has been in the past, we’re inclined to believe he’ll sign on without a second’s hesitation.

Not only that, but the actor has now been spotted sporting a very Obi-Wan-esque look, while also getting in shape for an upcoming role. It’s by no means confirmation that he’s set to feature in the spinoff, but the stars are certainly starting to align quite nicely, wouldn’t you say?

Lynda Carter cameo

The original Wonder Woman, Lynda Carter, portrayed Diane Prince in the ‘70s TV series of the same name. And today, she’s still a supporter of the role that made her famous, even showing up to the premiere of the new film in June.

Fans have speculated that Carter might make a cameo in the upcoming sequel, and though nothing is confirmed, the Supergirl actress is on board. She told People, “It really is up to Patty [Jenkins], and if it works in an organic way it’ll be great fun and it’ll be wonderful to do.”

Star Wars: The Last Jedi answers one of the big mysteries posed by The Force Awakens– just where did Rey come from?

But it turns out that writer-director Rian Johnson isn't sure that he's had the definitive last say on her parents.

(Spoiler warning to all those who somehow haven't seen The Last Jedi yet.)

The latest Star Wars movie reveals that Daisy Ridley's character is a proverbial "nobody" – born to anonymous Jakku junkers and sold into slavery for drinking money.

But the story is out of Johnson's hands now, and he admitted that things were "open" for a last-minute twist to Rey's tale.

"Anything's still open, and I'm not writing the next film," he told Huffington Post. "[JJ Abrams and Chris Terrio] are doing it."

As much as we liked the direction the film took, we wouldn't put it past Abrams to reveal that Kylo Ren was lying about Rey's origin and that she's really Luke's third cousin once removed or a clone of Anakin Skywalker's secret twin.

Godzilla 2: First Set Photos ... More Monsters?

Filming on the sequel to Gareth Edwards amazing re imagining of Godzilla (2014) has been taking place in Atlanta now for just over two weeks and the first on set photos have leaked out. Not much can be seen in any of the pics, all they contain are images of Warner Bros trailers and cars in all sorts of disrepair. It's the usual collateral damage stuff that exists in every single giant monster movie since 1933 when King Kong decided that he didn't like the civilized world very much and went ... well ape.

Here is an eyewitness report:

GODZILLA II Night Filming from the scheduled Inman Village ParkWay shoot that happened two days ago.


According to bystanders and witnesses, there were a lot of thunderous noises, booms, and monster sounds emitting around the location. With cars turned over, flames roaring, and with debris scattered everywhere. And clearly from the glimpses of the set, it must have been quite the night!

Though somewhat interesting the real meat and potatoes that has been floating around the rumor mill is that Godzilla 2 (previously known as Godzilla: King of the Monsters) will feature some previously unannounced cameos by some more monsters from the Toho movie series. It has been rumored that Anguirus, Varan and Ebirah (yes the giant lobster) (Mothra, Rodan and Ghidorah have been confirmed) will appear in some capacity in the film. These reports, of course, have not been confirmed but they certainly will make for chatter on the Big G message boards and fan sites.

It should also be noted that Godzilla himself reportedly will be getting a makeover to more resemble the traditional G designs from the Japanese movie series.

I have included some potential designs for Anguirus, Varan and Ebirah that include stamps from Legendary Pictures. Take these with a grain of salt though ... there are a ton of talented fans out there!

Star Wars Episode 7: Who is the Jedi Luke Skywalker is Training?

As always, there could be possible Star Wars Episode 7 SPOILERS below, enter at your own risk.

Luke Skywalker has been at the center of many of the recent Star Wars: Episode VII — The Force Awakens rumors including a recent one that we might see the actor Robert Boulter play a young Luke Skywalker in one of the rumored flashback sequences in the movie. While the idea of a flashback in a Star Wars movie still strikes many as somewhat blasphemous for one reason or another, it's looking pretty likely that we'll get at least one.

There's no conformation that Robert Boulter is in Star Wars Episode 7 in any kind of role but if you squint just right he does resemble a young Mark Hamill. We do however have confirmation that Billie Lourd, Carrie Fisher's 21 year old daughter, is in the movie and playing a young Princess Leia, complete with those hair buns and everything if the Daily Mail is to be believed. And who would ever doubt the Daily Mail?

The two actors could probably pass for being relatively the same age if the flashback for both of these characters is taking place at the same time, which would make some sense. One flashback to cover all the necessary information we need would seem more prudent than multiple flashbacks throughout the movie.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens - Spoiler Update!

Last week, Making Star Wars ran a report from an extra describing a scene in the film he appeared in with original cast members Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher, as well as newcomer Daisy Ridley, who is heavily rumored to be playing Han Solo’s daughter. The alleged scene took place in “a hideout for pirates, criminals, and empire hunters,” and featured “pilots, some human, some alien.” The extra made it sound a lot like Mos Eisley Cantina.

Now, a more explosive report comes from Making Star Wars. The blog is claiming that a “most trusted source and friend” with “documents proving” it said that, in a sequence in the film shot at famed Pinewood Studios, Han Solo (Ford) is hiding in the ramparts of The Evil Castle when he confronts Kylo Ren, rumored to be the main villain in The Force Awakens played by Girls star Adam Driver. There, Kylo Ren kills Han Solo before fleeing the scene, while the rest of Han Solo’s crew—Chewbacca, BB-8, and the rest—retreat to the Millennium Falcon. “Han Solo is never in a scene after this. Those are the facts,” according to the source.

MakingStarWars.net, a fan-made site dedicated to all things “Star Wars,” has posted a series of e-mails from a source claiming to have inside information on the plot of the movie. It’s worth mentioning that even the person running the site has his doubts about the legitimacy of the information, but he decided to post it on sheer interest alone.

The source claims to reveal the roles of Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher’s characters, as well as who the new players that will set the stage for “Episode VII” will be. Most noteworthy is the source's vivid description of how the audience will be reintroduced to the film’s biggest character, Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill).

The now old Jedi Master has put himself in exile after his powers grew beyond the Force. Fearing he would be a danger to himself and those he loves, Skywalker dedicates his life to guarding the tomb of an Ancient Sith Lord. Unfortunately, exile seems to take a toll on our beloved hero.

“Luke, it is revealed, has been experiencing severe mental torture whilst protecting this tomb by ghosts of the past, present and future and he is very unstable as we meet him,” the source says before describing the moment we first see Skywalker. “This Luke is wizened but crazed, his eyes twitch and are bloodshot, his robe is tattered, ripped and his beard is scraggy and his hair grey and long.

‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ Warwick Davis ‘Excited’ To See A Poster With Old Cast Members

There were two enemies on the set of Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Dark Side of the Force, and the dark side of the internet.

Oscar Isaac is forbidden from giving much insight about his role in the battling that first enemy, but he can say that director J.J. Abrams’ fight against the scourge of leaks from the film’s Pinewood set is equally epic.

For starters, when he auditioned for the part of Poe Dameron in the highly anticipated sequel, he wasn’t even sent to script to read ahead of time.

"They won’t even do that," Isaac, who stars in JC Chandor’s forthcoming crime drama A Most Violent Year, told Yahoo Movies. “You go to the place, and they have a room with cameras and you sit there and read the script. They’re incredibly protective, because nowadays, with however many hundreds of blogs and this and that, people are just ravenous for content. So because of that, there has to be such tight security around it. And it gets in the way of the process a bit, but it’s understandable.”

Star Wars VII 'will return to ice planet Hoth'

THE next film in the Star Wars series could include scenes on the ice planet of Hoth, last seen in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, according to reports.

Filming is not officially set to begin until May but Icelandic news site Visir reports that the Star Wars crew may begin work on scenes in Iceland as early as next month.

Hoth was the setting for an epic clash between the rebel alliance and the evil Galactic Empire, led by Darth Vader. The battle between rebels and the imperial forces on the snowy planet is one of the best loved sequences in the sci-fi series.

Director JJ Abrams has filmed in Iceland once before, recording "plate shots" for the 2013 picture Star Trek Into Darkness, Visir says.

Plate shots are background images, often used alongside green screen recordings or computer animation to create composite sequences that superimpose actors or props over a particular setting. If it does go ahead, filming in Iceland is expected to capture background imagery of this kind for Star Wars VII.

Icelandic film production company True North has been linked to the project. Members of the Star Wars crew were reported to be scouting for locations in Iceland alongside True North in October last year, although True North declined to comment on any involvement with the picture.

Disney and Lucasfilm have also released no new information about the upcoming film since the revelation last week that Star Wars VII would be set 30 years after Episode VI: Return of the Jedi.

Many believe that the new films will see the return of Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, and Mark Hamill in their roles as Han Solo, Princess Leia, and Luke Skywalker.

Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o and Girls star Adam Driver have also been tipped for roles in the new film.

Star Wars: Episode VII Looking At 12 Years A Slave Oscar Winner Lupita Nyong'o

Thanks to yesterday's shortlist we know that Jesse Plemons, Attack The Block's John Boyega, Downton Abbey's Ed Speleers, and stage actors Matthew James Thomas, and Ray Fisher are the actors who are being heavily considered to play the young male hero in Star Wars: Episode VII, but now a new story from The Hollywood Reporter has given us some insight as to what the production is looking for in its female roles. According to the trade's sources, actress Lupita Nyong'o - who won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress just a few weeks ago for her turn in Steve McQueen's 12 Years A Slave - has taken at least one meeting with director/co-writer J.J. Abrams about potentially playing a key part in the next chapter of George Lucas' sci-fi epic.

Insanely heavy security surrounding the project prevents us from knowing anything concrete about both the story and the characters in Star Wars: Episode VII, though THR may have some insight as to who the Oscar winning actress may play. Apparently there is a possibility that the film will feature a descendent of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the trade says that the part is for a "non-Caucasian role." Fans will probably notice that Nyong'o doesn't look a whole lot like either Sir Alec Guinness or Ewan McGregor, but it's possible she's just a very, very distant descendant - if that is indeed her part.

As things stand, the only actor who we're 99% sure is going to be in Star Wars: Episode VII is Girls' star Adam Driver, who will reportedly be playing a villain with a role similar to the one played by Darth Vader in the original trilogy. We haven't even heard anything about Mark Hammill, Carrie Fisher or Harrison Ford. Presumably we will be hearing a lot of official announcements in the next few weeks, as production on the new Star Wars movie is scheduled to start up this spring in London.

Benedict Cumberbatch hints at Star Trek 3 return

Benedict Cumberbatch has hinted that he will return for Star Trek 3.

The actor revived iconic villain Khan in Jj Abrams's Star Trek Into Darkness last year, and the film ended with the character being placed in cryogenic sleep along with his crew, leaving the door open for a return.

"That was a stupid thing to do," Cumberbatch joked during an interview with The New York Times. "They should have just blown me up."

Abrams will not return to direct the third instalment in his rebooted Trek series, owing to his commitment to Disney's upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII, but will stay on as producer.

Attack the Block director Joe Cornish was in line to replace Abrams last year, but has now reportedly departed the project. Roberto Orci will return to pen the script alongside new writers Jd Payne and Patrick McKay.

Appreciating that there's no shortage of Star Wars: Episode 7 rumors doing the rounds, we've elected not to run the majority of them for reasons of, well, they don't sound too accurate. Likewise, we've been contacted by lots of people who claim to have insider scoops on what's going on, that we haven't run for similar reasons.

This one, however, seems to have more substance to it. It's come from a good, reliable source, and whilst it's still a rumour until all of this is confirmed, we're passing this one on because from what we can tell, there's something to this one.

There's been a security clampdown in the prop shop at Pinewood Studios, but we now understand that work is afoot on building a full scale Millennium Falcon there. Furthermore, model makers are also building lightsaber hilts. This would tie into reports that the emphasis is going to be on practical, rather than computer effects wherever possible with future Star Wars films.

Also, we now understand that model makers on the Star Wars: Episode 7 project are being recruited on up to seven year contracts, which cover three sequels and three spin-offs.

Joining the ever growing list of actors who have met/been considered/thought about starring in the sequel — which has included Gary Oldman, Zac Efron, Michael Fassbesnder, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Michael B. That's what AICN says anyway, though we'd wonder how much Paramount will want the anchor for "Transfomers: Age Of Extinction" to jump to another franchise....

If you've been doing your Oscar prep properly (and we'll know if you haven't), then you've recenty caught up with Belgian bluegrass flick “The Broken Circle Breakdown” which, yes, is a thing, and yes, is nominated for Best Foreign Film and yes, is really good. Well, surfing the wave of success is its director, Felix van Groeningen, the hottest thing to come out of Belgium since...well, since Matthias Scheonaerts, star of “Rust and Bone” and “Bullhead” (itself Oscar nominated a few years ago). Now Cineuropa reports they're teaming up, like Tintin and Captain Haddock, to make “Belgica,” about two brothers who own a bar in Ghent and various dramas that surround them "from racism and camaraderie to fraternity and rivalry." Apparently it's based on the life of van Groeningen's own father. Belgian beer and these two guys should be a good combination: in the meantime, try to catch “The Broken Circle Breakdown,” though we'll buy you all a beer if it pulls of the win.

Excitement around a potential revival of the cult TV show Twin Peaks has been quelled by creator Mark Frost

Fans of David Lynch's TV series Twin Peaks have long been hoping for more white horses, Log Ladies and slices of cherry pie since it finished in 1991, and excitement about its return exploded after a casting call for the show was posted online. But the co-creator of the show, Mark Frost, has gone on Twitter to call it "another strange baseless rumor".

The callout from Sande Alessi Casting read: "Twin Peaks Promo. Directed by David Lynch. Shoots in Los Angeles on Tuesday, January 7, 2014... Hot Caucasian girl – Brunette Or Redheads Only to play waitress. Age 18-27. Must have an amazing body. Busty, very period looking face." There are reports that a Blu-Ray boxset of the show is being prepared, with spin-off film Fire Walk With Me included.

Katee Sackhoff Playfully Lobbies J.J. Abrams For A Star Wars Audition

Everybody wants to be in the Star Wars: Episode VII. Strike that. Let me clarify. If you are a working actor, you likely would trade an immediate family member for the opportunity to audition before J.J. Abrams and the LucasFilm team for a role in the upcoming sequel. It isn’t news to say that someone wants to be in the movie, but we’re shining a light on this particular person because we tend to agree she’d be an excellent fit.

Katee Sackhoff wants Abrams’ attention. In an interview with Total Film (shared via ComingSoon), the badass Battlestar Galactica star used her time with a reporter to state how much she adores the Star Wars universe, how important her voice work on The Clone Wars was, and how she’d do anything to once again be part of that world (sung in the best Little Mermaid voice we could muster). Sackhoff said:

"Star Wars meant everything to me growing up. Star Wars was, I mean, it was the first time I remember seeing three movies that all kind of went together. It was just an amazing final understanding of what a trilogy was...I was absolutely obsessed, I mean I wanted to be... The sad thing is, I never wanted to be Princess Leia, I always wanted to be Han Solo! [laughs] I've never really been drawn to these female roles, but I think that The Clone Wars was so much fun for me to play, I mean a warrior... If J.J. would listen, I would play a rock in the Star Wars movies. I think that they're fantastic, I think that he's a great choice, and I'm excited to see what happens in that world."

If you were wondering how closely ‘Star Wars: Episode 7‘ would be tied to the previous films in the franchise, the answer is it’s looking very much like “at the hip.” We’ve just learned that the evil Emperor Palpatine would be making a return in J.J. Abrams‘ long-awaited sequel, and now it looks like another supposedly dead character is set to show up. After all, it really wouldn’t be a ‘Star Wars‘ movie without some kind of appearance from Obi-Wan Kenobi, right?


According to Latino Review, Ewan McGregor’s beloved Jedi master will play a role in the highly anticipated film despite the fact that he was struck down by Darth Vader all the way back in the original ‘Star Wars.’ Of course, he was played by the legendary Alec Guinness back then, and the character managed to appear in both ‘The Empire Strikes Back’ and ‘Return of the Jedi’ as a Force ghost, guiding Luke Skywalker from beyond the grave. We can safely assume that this will be the case in ‘Episode 7′ with McGregor as well, making this the most Force ghost-heavy film in the series so far.
