Paranormal - Real Life Tales Of The Unexplained

I thought that since it is Halloween and all, I would end this week's posts with some "real-life" stories of ghosts and the unexplained.

I encourage Monster Island News readers to share their own stories by posting them as "comments" to this article.

So let me start things out by sharing my own little story:

Back in 2001 I moved to California from New Mexico. At that time I had moved in with my mother, who was living in my grandmother's old house.

One night after dinner, I had finished with something, probably butter, anyway, I moved over to the refrigerator in the southwest corner of the kitchen and opened the door.

At this same time my mother was across the room from me washing some dishes.

In between both of us was the kitchen table, and on that table sat a bowl of wax fruit. Inside was the usual mix of apples, berries, and bananas. The bowl had belonged to my deceased grandmother, and for some sentimental reason we just never removed it.

I remember that my mother asked me something and I pulled my head out of the refrigerator and turned to look at her. At the exact moment that my mother and I faced each other, a banana from inside the bowl flew out and hit the west wall of the room.

My mother and I just stood there for a few seconds and stared at the piece of wax fruit that was now resting in the area where the wall and the floor came together.

My mother then broke the silence by saying, "well, I guess grandma didn't like the dinner."

I walked over and picked up the banana, looked at it puzzled, and put it back in it's normal resting place.

Now this is the honest truth, that piece of wax fruit flew out of the bowl. It didn't fall out, hit the table, and bounce. It came straight out, and it never hit the table. It moved in a roughly 45 degree angle straight from the bowl to the wall about eight feet away.I have never seen anything like it before or since.

Now, I realize my banana story is nothing like seeing a real ghost or having a haunted house, but it happened to me, and it is unexplainable.
