As we all know times are tough all over and it is especially hard for small, independent film companies to make ends meet. There have been several times that I have posted an article about a production team that needed a few extra dollars to help finish a film.
Well I'm doing it again, but this time I really think it is for a good cause.
Rachel Grubb of Silent-But-Deadly Productions has come up with a very fun and interesting way for people to donate to her company using Facebook.
For a $5 donation fans can rent Silent-But-Deadly Productions status update for 24 hours. The renter can use the update line to post anything they want, within reason, like a personal message or an advertisement.

Are you tired of boring Facebook status updates? And status updates that don't say anything, because they're really just quotes from The Dark Knight, or bad 80's songs? Well, here is your chance to change Rachel and Brooke's facebook status to whatever you want!
That's right--Silent-But-Deadly Productions is renting out their facebook statuses. We've got a web series coming up, another short film, and several other projects for 2009, and we would be grateful if you could help us out. We are a non-profit all female production company dedicated to supporting women in film. We are planning to invite some young girls to visit our set so that they have an opportunity to learn about the film making process.
For $5, you can change our statuses, either Brooke's or Rachel's, for 24 hours. You can use it to advertise your business, get the word out about your cause, or just embarrass Rachel and Brooke. (examples: "Rachel eats boogers," "Brooke listens to Eddie Money.") We are addicts and always on facebook, so plenty of people will see your message!

You must make sure you write "Silent-But-Deadly Productions" in the message area, or the money will not go to us. When you get the email receipt from paypal, forward it to Rachel at rachelg@thechainsawmafia.com Then just let us know what you would like the status to say. We are open to anything other than hate speech, so be as creative as you want! You can buy as many 24 hours periods as you want. You can also include links.
Since we are a 501c3 non-profit, you will also get a tax deduction for the amount you donate for the 2009 fiscal year.
