New Music Friday On A Thursday Because Of A Holiday - The Top Modern Wave Songs For The Week!

 Written By: Ken Hulsy

Hey everyone! Since tomorrow is the 4th of July, I decided to move my new music feature up a day so I can share some historical and patriotic content in honor of our independence. Over the past few weeks, I’ve been focusing on one specific group for these features, but honestly, there’s just so much incredible music out there that I realized I need to widen my scope. So, tonight, I'm excited to present a top five list of songs based on the most listens from last.fm. I had to lean on that external source for this list because, if I had done it myself, it might have been a bit overwhelming.

Let’s start with my top pick from the playlist, which I think of as a modern take on Saint Etienne's 1994 gem, "Like A Motorway." While it might not be brand new, it's definitely a song that will completely blow your mind!

1. GIFT - Light Runner

2. Social Order - LIGHTS OFF

3. The New Division - Lust for Lies

4. Topographies - Love Is Not Enough

5. HALLOWS - Find A Way

I hope you enjoyed that! If you were into the wave scene back in the day or love this fresh retro vibe, you’ll find this is the perfect spot for discovering modern New Wave music. Bands like GIFT, Social Order, Topographies, The New Division, and HALLOWS are definitely worth checking out. Plus, my Modern Wave playlist is packed with amazing tracks just waiting for you to uncover! Enjoy the journey!
