Get ready for the 36th Annual Summer's Last Blast, happening August 7th, 8th, and 9th in the charming town of Vernon, Texas! This incredible event is proudly hosted by the Vernon Street Machine and Classics Association and promises a memorable weekend for car aficionados and families alike.
Join us at Orbison Park for the Show-n-Shine Car Show, where you can relax and enjoy the stunning display of Classics, Street Rods, Pro Streets, and Antiques. You'll have the chance to admire these marvelous vehicles while the enthusiastic Cruisers get their rides ready for the Nostalgic Cruise Saturday Night. And don’t forget your swimsuit! You can cool off from the sweltering August heat in the brand-new city pool as live bands serenade you with your favorite tunes throughout the day.
The Show-n-Shine runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and we encourage everyone to be a part of the Nostalgic Cruise Night. Cruise down one of the longest drags in North Texas and Southern Oklahoma and take a trip down memory lane to the “Golden Days,” when true muscle cars and rods dominated the streets. Embrace the nostalgia as you watch some of the most prestigious Classics, Street Rods, Pro Streets, and Antiques take to the roads, reminiscent of the good old days. Over 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s rock and roll hits will be blaring from a live remote on the drag, setting the perfect backdrop for an unforgettable evening.
Bring your friends and join thousands of others for the tailgate party of the year! Please remember that all registered vehicles must be from 1978 or earlier, street legal, and equipped with liability insurance. Customized late models are welcome but will require approval. We ensure a fun yet safe environment with a restricted cruise from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, and all vehicles will be subject to inspection prior to approval. The event is conveniently located along Wilbarger Street.
For those who have a passion for the industrial side of horsepower, don’t miss the Annual Antique Tractor & Engine Show! This delightful showcase is free and non-judged, making it the perfect outing for enthusiasts and curious visitors alike. Whether you have an antique to show or simply enjoy observing old tractors, big trucks, hit and miss engines, or early 1900s equipment, you’ll find plenty to marvel at. Setup begins at 8:00 AM, and the main event runs from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
Mark your calendars and prepare for a fun-filled weekend that unites the best of vintage cars and community spirit. Don't miss out on the excitement—come be a part of the Summer's Last Blast!
