Those looking forward to Disney's INDIANA JONES 5 will have to wait just a bit longer to set out on another adventure with Harrison Ford's bullwhip-wielding rogue, as the studio has announced that the film has been moved from July 10, 2020 for a July 9. 2021 debut. As it happens, the film was supposed to shift into production in the United Kingdom in April of 2019, though scheduling conflicts and scripting issues seem to have "kalimaed" those plans. Never fear, though. Spielberg is still set to direct and Ford is reportedly looking forward to going on yet another dangerous mission as Disney plunders the series for more cash.

Furthermore, INDIANA JONES 5 isn't the only film from the studio that's being moved. As a part of the Indy announcement, the House of Mouse has also revealed that Dwayne Johnson's JUNGLE CRUISE will now set sail in theaters on Oct. 11, 2019, while Angelina Jolie's MALEFICENT 2 will cast a spell in cinemas on May 29, 2020. Furthermore, MARY POPPINS RETURNS starring Emily Blunt will now open on December 19th as opposed to its original Christmas Day release date.

Adjust your calendars as needed, and hold tight for when Disney reveals more about INDIANA JONES 5: THE SEARCH FOR MORE MONEY. Heh, that's not really what it's called, but I can't resist a good SPACEBALLS reference, and neither should you.

Shane Black has worked with one kind of Avenger in Iron Man 3, but he may be setting his sights on a different Avengers team. The Nice Guys director, who is currently knee-deep in post-production on The Predator, has reportedly co-written a script for a TV reboot of the British 1960s spy series The Avengers. And to be fair, they had the name first.


In a career retrospective with The Dark Side Magazine (via ScreenRant), Black’s frequent writing partner Fred Dekker revealed that he and Black are working on a script for a TV reboot of the beloved 1960s spy series The Avengers for Warner Bros. Dekker said:

“It’s The Avengers, with John Steed and Emma Peel. We’re setting it in Britain in the 60’s, and our approach is The Ipcress File meets Doctor Who. At this moment, it’s my favorite thing we’re working on.”

The Avengers, which premiered in 1961, was part of the first wave of the 1960s spy TV series craze. The phenomenon was kicked off by the intense popularity of Ian Fleming’s James Bond novels and the films that followed it, which created a slew of imitators on both TV and film, including beloved series like Mission: Impossible, Get Smart, and The Man From U.N.C.L.E. Hell, even the Adam West Batman series took some cues from the espionage wave of the ’60s.

Stacey! She's A Very Private Detective!

Stacey is a 1973 exploitation film directed by Andy Sidaris. Half the budget was provided by Roger Corman for his New World Pictures the rest was raised by Sidaris. It was re-released in 1975 as Stacy and Her Gangbusters.

The film features an empowered babe in a masculinized action role. She is "a very private detective" in a crime-fighting film. This was the first attempt of Sidaris to produce a film with a female protagonist facing crime. The film thus serves as a precursor to many 1980s films, including those produced by Sidaris himself. In these films "soft" women adopt "hard" personae. It is also a precursor to 1990s softcore films where gender has little to do with a heroine's career, as by that point women's advance into the workplace was no longer an exploitable hot topic.

The protagonist is Stacey Hanson (Anne Randall), a private eye and race car driver. She is hired by aging heiress Florence Chambers (Marjorie Bennett) to investigate the close members of her family who live in her mansion. Stacey is to determine whether the members of Florence's family are worthy to be included in her will. They are three: Florence's nephew John (John Alderman), his wife Tish (Anitra Ford), and Florence's grand-niece Pamela (Cristina Raines).

As it happens, all three potential heirs have something to hide. John is a discreet homosexual, Tish is having an affair with the houseboy, and Pamela has dubious friends. Stacey uncovers some family secrets but a greater scandal is about to begin. The scheming houseboy Frank (James Westmoreland) is murdered. Stacey now has to find the identity of the murderer before he/she can kill again. Frank was sleeping with and/or blackmailing nearly all members of the family, so everyone is a suspect.

Stacey's investigation leads to a helicopter and car chase and gunplay. The murdered turns out to be Pamela who is a member of a cult reminiscent of the Manson family. She was planning to frame John and stand as the last viable heir to the family fortune. - Wiki

Originally envisioned by film maker John Carpenter, as a 'classic' western movie, then a 'modern' western movie, "Big Trouble in Little China", eventually evolved into action/comedy that pays homage to Kung-Fu cinema. After several studios balked at the idea of martial arts themed, 'cowboy' movie, screenwriter W. D. Richter was hired by Carpenter to 'modernize' the script. It would seem that Richter would have his own agenda in mind when developing a new story for "Big Trouble", the early drafts all tied in the film as a sequel to his 1984 film, "The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension!". Carpenter, however, wasn't on the same page as Richter, wanting "Big Trouble in Little China" to be a stand-alone film, and not a sequel, so references to "Buckaroo Banzai" never made it into the final screenplay.

"Big Trouble in Little China" stars Kurt Russell has the truck driver with a big ego, and big heart, Jack Burton. Russell had resurrected his career in the early 80s after success in family oriented Disney films in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

New 'Fantastic Four' are Teller, Mara, Jordan and Bell

Fox is ready to reboot Marvel's Fantastic Four and have revealed the cast, which includes Miles Teller playing Reid Richards (aka Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara playing Sue Storm (aka The Invisible Woman), Michael B. Jordan playing Johnny Storm (aka The Human Torch) and Jamie Bell lining up to play Ben Grimm (aka The Thing) for director Josh Trank (Chronicle).

Jordan and Teller were said to be attached for a long time while as was Mara. Bell is the newest name attached to the cast and according to Variety, no formal offer has yet been made to Bell.

The film, with a script from Simon Kinberg, said to be based on the comic "The Ultimate Fantastic Four," which will focus on the characters as young men and women, is already slated for a June 19, 2015 release.

Harrison Ford Open to Returning to Indiana Jones

Even though Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was almost universally panned by the fans, leading man Harrison Ford won’t rule out a return to the character.

With rumors that he’s preparing a return to the Star Wars franchise as Han Solo, Ford’s other major Lucasfilm role came up for discussion during a new interview–and he had a pretty thoughtful answer for the question.

“We’ve seen the character develop and grow over a period of time and it’s perfectly appropriate and okay for him to come back again with a great movie around him where he doesn’t necessarily have to kick as much ass,” he told The Telegraph. “To me, what was interesting about the character was that he prevailed, that he had courage, that he had wit, that he had intelligence, that he was frightened and that he still managed to survive. That I can do.”

Of course, back when Disney bought Lucasfilm, they announced a new Star Wars trilogy but intimated that new Indiana Jones films weren’t high priorities for Disney.

In the age of 'Robotech', 'Tranzor Z', and the lasting appeal of Mattel's 'Shogun Warriors' came 'Robot Jox' a movie about giant robots and the men (and women) who love them. Well, in actuality it was a movie about the men (and women) who were forced to pilot giant mechs in combat against each other in order to solve the worlds conflicts.

On the outside 'Robot Jox' sounded like it would be one super cool movie. Giant robots locked in combat in the fashion of the popular 'Battletech' board game played out in full cinematic glory.

This is going to be great!

Uh-Oh SpaghettiOs! What is this? A film so boring that you wished you were back at home watching 'Tranzor Z.' How can a movie with giant robots fighting each other be such a snoozer? How can you screw that up? It's 'Rocky' with robots for crying out loud!

The makers of 'Real Steel' ... I'm looking out of the corner of my eye at you.

Somehow film makers Stuart Gordon and the Band brothers (Charles and Albert) figured out how and not learning from their mistakes, went on to produce a series of giant robot films for the home video market. Those films ended up being so unmemorable that they aren't even listed on IMDB.

The character of the German Colonel in the movie 'Battle of the Bulge'(1965) was first intended to be the real life Panzer officer Joachim Peiper, the youngest man in the Nazi Army to be make the rank of full colonel (SS-Standartenführer, the direct SS equivalent to an Oberst or full colonel in the German army). However, since Peiper, a protégé of 'Reichsführer-SS Heinrich Himmler' , the head of the Schutzstaffel (SS) and the second most powerful man in Germany after Adolf Hitler, was promoted to the ran at the age of 29. However, as he was still living at the time the film was produced and was still a committed Nazi, his character was quickly changed to a fictitious Regular German Army officer, so as not to give Peiper any connection to the film or risk a libel suit. It was Peiper's unit of the Waffen-SS, Kampfgruppe Peiper of the 1st SS Division, Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler (German for "Adolf Hitler's Bodyguard Regiment") that was responsible for the Malmedy massacre of American prisoners depicted in the film. After the War, he was convicted of war crimes and sentenced to death. The sentence was commuted by the American Occupation Force as the trial had been fraught with illegalities, and he served only 11 years in prison, despite having perpetrated war-crimes on both the Eastern and Western fronts. Today we are continuing on with our list of cinematic 'turkeys' in honor of Thanksgiving with a little film that even a hundred naked women couldn't save 'The Perils of Gwendoline in the Land of the Yik Yak'. Yes this movie which rolled onto the scene way back in 1984 has everything that this spry young teenage boy would want to see in a movie, action, bondage, Tawny Kitaen, hundreds of women in tight leather outfits, topless cat fights, and boobs boobs and more boobs. Alas, none of these things could save this movie. I can still remember thinking to myself, 'Oh my God, why did she have to take her top off?'. You really never want a fourteen-year-old perpetually horny male to be so bored by a movie that he doesn't even want to see breasts  anymore. Yet that is exactly what happened. Even my best friend who was a bigger perv than me got tired of the endless parade of jiggling flesh. NOW THAT'S REALLY SAYING SOMETHING!

It is commonly known that what one person considers to be a great movie may not be so great to others. Many of us have guilty pleasures in the realm of cinema that make others scratch their heads and mutter "wtf"? Certain aspects of a film may speak to one person yet be totally lost on another. One man's treasure is another man's trash and so on.

Such a film is the 1965 Russ Meyer classic (?) "Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!" which to me is one of those afore mentioned type of films. Why do I like it so much? Well ... I can only surmise that it has something to so with cleavage and violence. It may also have something to do with it being a great "quote movie" like "Army of Darkness", "Big Trouble in Little China" and "Shaun of the Dead".

"I never try anything. I just do it. And I don't beat clocks, just people! Wanna try me?"

Then again there is only one name that you need to know, Tura Satana. If you don't know who that is you sure will never be able to forget her after watching "Faster, Pussycat!".

Did you know?

The film was shot in the extreme western parts of the Mojave Desert. However, some of the scenes appear to have been filmed farther east, near Baker, California. The last scenes in the film were made west of California City. The rail line running between Mojave and Trona, California is clearly evident.

Lead actress Tura Satana, legally owns her likeness and image. So, whenever Russ Meyer wanted to change the artwork or re-release the project, he had to get her permission and sometimes pay her all over again.

Russ Meyer named the movie like this because he claims that a movie has everything when it contains speed (faster), sex (pussycat) and violence(kill,kill).

In the beginning of the movie, when Billie detours to go to the lake, the front driver's side wheel cover is missing, and looks like some minor front end damage in the same area, which can be seen when she pulls up and stops next to the bush at the lake. Later on in the film, the wheel cover is present and there is no damage to the car.

When Billie and Rosie are fighting in the dirt after being in the lake, Billie's hair appears much shorter than it does in other scenes.

During the dinner scene, Billie is eating a leg and thigh of chicken but when the shot changes to behind the old man she's eating a cob of corn.

After Varla cuts the fence and gets back into her car, look at the rear side window. Crew member with hat is briefly visible in the reflection.

After Rosie and Varla take out The Old Man with the Porsche, the front license plate is shown hanging down. Later, when the Porsche is shown approaching The Vegetable, the license plate is back in place.

Gas Station Attendant: [staring down at Varla's cleavage as he pumps gas] Just passing through, huh? Boy, that motor's sure hot! You gals really must have been moving on these little machines. Yessir, the thrill of the open road. New places, new people, new sights of interest. Now that's what I believe in, seeing America first!
