Allison Scagliotti Joins The Cast Of DESTINATION TRUTH For First Ever Live Investigation

Source: NBC / Universal

Actress Allison Scagliotti will join the team on Destination Truth: Live from Ireland – The Search for the Banshee Ghost, a four-hour special episode that will take Josh Gates and team to Ireland for their very first live investigation. Best known to Syfy fans as Claudia on the immensely popular series Warehouse 13, Scagliotti is also no stranger to live television or overnight adventure: she fearlessly served as co-host of last year’s Ghost Hunters Halloween Live event.

This special episode of Destination Truth will air from 7-11pm (ET/PT) on Thursday, March 17. In addition to Scagliotti, the team will also welcome three veteran guest investigators: Kris Williams and Barry FitzGerald (Ghost Hunters International), and Jael de Pardo (Fact or Faked: Paranormal Files, Destination Truth).

In Destination Truth: Live from Ireland – The Search for the Banshee Ghost, Gates and his team will brave the crumbling ruins of Duckett’s Grove Castle in County Carlow, Ireland, in search of the truth behind the legend of the banshee. Today, many County Carlow locals claim to have witnessed hearing the banshee’s unmistakable wail and seeing glimpses of an ethereal woman stalking the grounds of the 200 year-old historic ruins of Duckett’s Grove Castle. Armed with equipment, expertise and, as always, humor, Josh and team will attempt to solve the mystery behind this age-old legend.

New episodes of Destination Truth will return starting Tuesday, March 22 @ 9pm (new night and time).

On Thursday, March 17, 2011, Syfy’s hit adventure reality series Destination Truth will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the show’s first-ever LIVE investigation! Host Josh Gates will take viewers to Ireland for the Season 4.5 premiere, where he and his team will brave the crumbling ruins of Duckett’s Grove Castle in search of the truth behind the legend of the banshee.

According to Irish legend, the banshee is a sign of impending death; a female ancestral spirit who wails around a house the night before someone inside is to meet their demise.

Josh’s return to Ireland marks the one-year anniversary of the series’ most-watched episode (featuring a hunt for the leprechaun that aired on St. Patrick’s Day 2010).

Other adventures this season include tackling claims of spirits in Namibia, a sea monster in Cyprus and mysterious creatures in Panama and Argentina. Then, in another Destination Truth first, the team will trek to Antarctica, where strange phenomena occurring around abandoned research stations has stumped scientists. Now, the Destination Truth crew will brave the elements to conduct the world’s first paranormal investigation on the frozen continent, giving viewers a rare and unique glimpse at this rarely visited landscape…as well as, perhaps, a look into its past.

Kris Williams & Allison Scagliotti To Guest Star On 'Destination Truth' - Episode Schedule

As many of you know, one my favorite television shows, is SyFy's "Destination Truth", which follows the exploits of adventurer Josh Gates and his crew as they investigate sightings of strange monsters and other unexplained phenomena from around the globe.

Well, from the feed-back that I receive every time I write an article about the show, I know that many of the readers here at MIN are fans of the show as well.

Though, NBC/Universal hasn't released any 'official' information about season 3.5 of the series, which makes it's debut this Wednesday, the fine folks over at the "Destination Truth Addicts" group on Facebook, have the low-down on what to expect.

To start with, here is the schedule for the upcoming episodes:

March 17th-Ghosts of Masada Israel/Leprechauns in Ireland
March 24th-Ghosts of the Great Wall of China/Israeli Mermaid
March 31st-The Jersey Devil/The Chinese Yeren
April 7th-Haunted mining town of Chile'/The Taniwha of New Zealand
April 14th-Ghosts of Petra in Jordan/The Lizard Man USA
April 21st-S...pirits Mysterious Statues of Easter Island/The Giant Moa of New Zealand

The group also has the scoop on some casting changes for the upcoming season, it looks like Jael will only appear in the episodes from China. Apparently she had other projects that she was working on that prevented her from being able to appear in any other episodes.

To replace her, Erin Ryder, has returned to the show. Ryder is a well-known producer, and is often busy with other programs, but she has promised to work on "Destination Truth" between projects in the future.

This season will feature two guest stars, MIN favorite Allison Scagliotti from "Warehouse 13" and Kris Williams from "Ghost Hunters."

It looks like SyFy wants to 'sexy' up the show a little bit by adding Scagliotti and Williams to mix....which is okay by me.

Now, I don't want to read too much into this, but I suggested that they do a "Lizard Man" episode in a post on the "Destination Truth" Facebook page some time back.....so they may (or may not) have gotten the idea for the episode from yours truly.

Just saying.......

The SCI FI Channel has renewed its investigative reality hit Destination Truth for a third season, following its blockbuster 2nd season that achieved double-digit growth. World traveler and intrepid explorer Josh Gates will return to host nine all-new episodes, slated to premiere on SCI FI in Fall 2009.

Josh, a recent inductee to The Explorers Club (a prestigious and exclusive organization dedicated to the advancement of exploration and field research), will once again take viewers around the globe in search of answers to some of the world's most intriguing unexplained mysteries. In a Destination Truth first, this season will feature United States-based investigations, in Alaska and in Florida. Other adventures include a trip through the ghost towns of Chernobyl, a trek into eastern Turkey in search of a lake mystery and an attempt to uncover secrets behind of the Bermuda Triangle. The team will also return for another investigation of the mystery that last season yielded the show's most compelling evidence to date: the Himalayan Mountains and the timeless myth of the Yeti.

Josh's thrilling and humorous adventures into the unknown made Destination Truth a bona fide ratings hit for SCI FI, bringing in over 1 million new viewers over its 6-week debut season in summer of 2007. Season 2 was the best sophomore performance for a reality series on SCI FI ever, and outperformed the first season in all key demographics: household rating (+9%), total viewers (+15%), Adults 18-49 (+17%) and Adults 25-54 (+28%).

Destination Truth will be Executive Produced by Brad Kuhlman for Ping Pong Productions (1000 Places to See Before You Die, Celebrity Rehab, FM Nation). Bechara Gholam will serve as co-executive producer.

If Your looking For Ghosts Go To The Aokigahara Forest In Japan

Written By: Ken Hulsey

If you were lucky enough to see the television show, "Destination Truth" a week ago then you probably know the story behind the Aokigahara Forest (Sea of Trees) and how it may very well be the most haunted place on Earth. If you are like me, you just can't get enough of shows like "Ghost Hunters", Monster Quest, and ...well... "Destination Truth." I, like you probably do, find myself thinking, "I could go to that place....piece of cake...no big deal." Give me any old graveyard, penitentiary, or mental hospital and I would be all over it. Now, when it comes to Aokigahara, well that's a different story all together. I got freaked out just watching it on TV. Honestly that place is creepy in ways I can't even explain. Well, let me try anyway.

To give a bit of information that may have missed if you didn't tune in to "Truth" when it aired. Aokigahara is famous for a place that many Japanese go to end their lives, and when I say end, I don't mean die of old age. I'm talking about suicide and hundreds of people a year go out into those woods and never return. The problem is so bad the the local Forestry Service has posted signs everywhere with slogans saying that "life is a precious gift" and "go seek help." Let me tell you, those kind of signs don't do much to brighten up the atmosphere in Aokigahara. According to sources on the net, these woods rank as the second highest place for suicide attempts in the world, and is only bested by San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge.

The forests of Aokigahara are littered with the remains of campsites abandoned by those who have found that life is no longer worth living. It seems that a common practice for those who wish to travel the after life, often spend several days camping in the woods in preparation for their final act. This has lead to the forest becoming a haven for scavengers, who are more than happy to retrieve the left over cash, credit cards, drivers licenses and other personal items that the departed have left behind. Again this doesn't add much to make Aokigahara any more cheery.

Of course the fact that just about everyone who enters the woods has some sort of paranormal event happen to them doesn't hurt the woods claim as one of the most haunted places on Earth either. It just goes to reason that with so much sadness and death present in Aokigahara that this would be a place where spirits either get trapped or their energy lives on for decades.

It is for these reasons that you would probably never find me walking around in the "Sea of Trees." Like I said before, you can send me to an old army hospital or crazy house and I would go. Heck, I might even think its fun. Aokigahara would be a real "gut-check", I mean you would have to have balls of stone to go there. I'm no coward, but that place would terrify me. You can count me out.....
