Rat Scratch Fever Trailer 2

Director, Jeff Leroy, has just created a Myspace page for his upcoming film "Rat Scratch Fever." Now fans can 'connect' with Leroy and have acccess to exclusive trailers and clips from the movie.
If you have been 'out of the loop' on this one, let me tell you that this one is a B movie fans dream come true. Leroy has combined the elements of old 70s giant critter flicks, 80s sci fi movies and even a little bit of Japanese monster films, to create a wonderfully cheesy movie. Pun intended!
God, you just gota love the rats running around the miniature Los Angeles sets. Can it get any beter than that?
Oh, and you can cleary see that Leroy is a big fan of the 'Alien' films from these new trailers.

It is a given that director Jeff Leroy really likes Monster Island News. First off he is going to list our site in his films credits and secondly he keeps sending us exclusive images.
In case you haven't been keeping up with things concerning Leroy's movie "Rat Scratch Fever", then let me quickly mention that it is a film that closely resembles the 70s cult classics "Ben" (Willard) and "Night of the Lepus".
Plot: "The toothy terror begins when astronaut Sonja (Tasha Tacosa) travels with a team to a distant planet in search of life. The private firm that finances her mission is the Steel Space Corporation. The founder of the corporation is Dr. Steel, played by Randal [THE CURSE OF LIZZIE BORDEN] Malone. When her mission goes awry after being attacked by giant rats from another planet, Sonja’s ex-marine boyfriend Jake, portrayed by Ford Austin, has to race against time to save her from Doctor Steel. The rats then make it back to earth and takeover LA!"
Okay, now that everyone is on the same page let's get to the pics:
No, these are not the same rats that just voted to raise your taxes!
No dude, you aren't trippin, its a real giant rat.
The more I see of Tasha Tacosa, the more I like.
The LA skyline normally doesn't look this good.
No matter how bad your problems are, suicide is never the answer.
Houston.....we have a problem.....a giant rat problem.....See Also: The Poster And Exclusive Photos From Rat Scratch Fever / Giant Monster Rats From Outer Space Devour LA In Rat Scratch Fever / Night Of The Lepus (1972)(MGM)

Have you ever stayed up late at night wondering what would happen if somehow the early 70s B movies, "Ben" (Willard) and "Night of the Lepus", could be massed together to make one movie? ....what....you haven't?
You say that you have never heard of either of those movies? Okay.....well that doesn't matter, because director Jeff Leroy has seen them both, and has already mashed them together to create his upcoming cinematic masterpiece, "Rat Scratch Fever."
Okay, maybe I went too far by saying 'cinematic masterpiece?'
Lets just say that if you love movies with real size rodents running through miniature sets then "Fever" is your type of cheese.
It's your typical deep space exploration tale gone wrong. A group of Astronauts bring a herd of mutant rats back to Earth, where they begin breeding like Viagra addicts, feasting on the public and causing all sorts of traffic problems. You know, that old chestnut.
It may not be an original idea, but it is good to see someone eager to create the feel of 70s cult cinema. Besides, Leroy has listed us in the films credits, so......I would recommend this movie to everyone!
Jeff Leroy was kind enough to send us some of the first photos from "Rat Scratch Fever":
Wow! It seems that things have gotten worse in DC now that Obama has taken office. Just kidding! Washington is always been overrun with rats! Whats the big deal?
Giant rats under the control of one very disturbed boy......what?......oh yeah, that's another movie.
Traffic in Los Angeles is always bad.....now we got giant rats from space in the "Carpool Lane!"
Great, Leroy was able to find two actors that already look like action figures.Giant Monster Rats From Outer Space Devour LA In Rat Scratch Fever

Remember back on Tuesday when I told you all about the "giant critter" movies that were made back in the early 1970s? Remember my article about the giant killer bunny rabbits in "Night of the Lepus"? Wasn't all that funny? Boy, nobody would make movies like that again! Wait.....what?.....giant killer rats....from outer space? Here we go again, it's 1970 all over again folks.
Yes, someone has just made a movie about giant killer rats that hitch a ride with some astronauts and begin breeding like crazy, creating an army of man-eaters. The film entitled, "Rat Scratch Fever" (No! Not the Ted Nugent Song!...that's Cat Scratch Fever!) features life-size rats filmed on miniature sets, just like "Night of the Lepus".
Come to think of it....the plot sounds a lot like "Green Slime"? Hey, what the heck, if your going to rip-off one old crappy film, rip them all off, I say.
Here is the synopsis:
"The toothy terror begins when astronaut Sonja (Tasha Tacosa) travels with a team to a distant planet in search of life.
Takeover Los Angeles? I don't think that the gangs and the illegal aliens will give it up that easily!
