A Man Of 1000 Faces Interested In "Terror From The Trees"

Earlier this week I broke the story about a great independent horror movie that is set to begin production in the metropolis that is Lawton, Oklahoma, called "Terror From The Trees: Mr. Fluffenstein's Rampage". A sweet little film about a bunch of squirrels that go bonkers and start destroying stuff. You know, kinda like "Night Of The Lepus" crossed with the scene in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" where the little critters get rid of Veruca Salt.

At this point, the folks over at JuJu Productions are keeping the story hush-hush, so we don't know why the squirrels are so pissed off, but I have heard talk about 'stunt squirrels' and a squirrelzilla costume, so there are reasons to get excited about this one.

This afternoon the first casting news for the film was beamed directly from 'The Sooner State' to the media. Here is the contents of that transmission:

Hugo Rite, "A Man of 1000 Faces," approached JuJu Productions early this morning about signing on to their newest cinematic endeavor, TERROR FROM THE TREES. "I heard about this project and knew I had to be a part of it," said Mr. Rite. We cannot confirm the story yet, but rumor has it Mr. Rite is willing to work for scale, if given approval over the final script and assurances that he will have no intimate contact with any of his squirrel co-stars. It is unclear whether JuJu, long known for retaining complete autonomy over their projects, will be willing to accept these conditions, even considering the super-star-power of Mr. Rite.

Now to be honest, I've never heard of Hugo Rite, and my attempts to search Google about him turned up zero results, so we will just have to be satisfied with the "Man of 1000 Faces" and "Super-Star" titles used in the press release.

Over the decades of monster movies, we have watched as mankind has suffered the brutal attacks of giant rabbits in "Night Of The Lepus", giant ants in "Them!", regular size ants in "Phase IV", giant ants again in "Empire of the Ants", giant rats, and other critters, in "Food of the Gods" and even rampaging fruit in "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes". Now, it is our little friends, the squirrels, who are at this very moment, preparing to wreak vengeance on us unsuspecting humans!

It's only fitting, after what we have done to the wilderness areas of this country, that these cute, little, furry critters rise up against us.

And remember what the Bible says "the meek shall inherit the earth".

Am I making way too much out of this? I think not!

Just check out this press release:

Well, folks and fans, it is official: TERROR FROM THE TREES: MR. FLUFFENSTEIN'S RAMPAGE is a go. JuJu Productions in association with Galaxyinfinitem Films will definitely begin production in the near future; contracts have been signed by our stars, Cindy Cheeks (of Nut Horizon fame), newcomer Dirk Bobtail, and of course P.T.D. Bryant, and the script is underway in the mind of yours truly. The creature effects department is hard at work designing special groundbreaking top secret stunt squirrels, guaranteed to astound and amaze and defy the very laws of Newtonian physics. Our art department, headed by acclaimed artiste Tosh, will be delivering pre-production sketches which will be shared at some unknown time in the future, to your delight and horror. Until then, hold tight-- your patience will be rewarded.

No, I'm not making this up!
