Now Yatterman Fans Can Buy The Doronjo Doll

One week to the day after Fukada Kyoko paraded out in her sexy Doronjo costume the Hasbro company has released photos of a brand-new doll modeled after the character.

The new doll is part of the companies "Miss Blythe" line that is for sale only in Japan.

Looks pretty cool huh!

Honestly I really don't know very much about dolls and I know very little about the origins of this particular doll.

I did, however, go online and look up the history of "Blythe" dolls. This comes from Wikipedia:

Blythe is a doll created in 1972 by designer Allison Katzman with the now-defunct U.S. toy company Kenner. Reportedly, she was modelled after drawings by Margaret Keane, similarly to many other dolls of the '60s and '70s. Her most distinctive and notable feature were eyes that changed color with the pull of a string attached to the back of her head. Due to a lack of interest, Blythe dolls were only sold for one year in the U.S. (produced in Hong Kong), during 1972.

I also learned that in 1999 CWC International persuaded Hasbro to begin producing the dolls again after a huge demand was created by a retro Japanese commercial that featured the original "Blythes".

The dolls have been big sellers in Japan ever since.

Fukada Kyoko Shows Off Her Sexy Doronjo Costume

Fans won't have to wait until March 7th to check out Fukada Kyoko in her skin tight Doronjo costume from "Yatterman." The actress, along with co-stars Kobayashi Kendo (Tonzra) and Namase Katsuhisa (Boyacky), posed for photos at a special PR event for the film. As you can imagine it was Fukada (aka Fukakyon) who was getting most of the media attention.

The 26 year old actress helped design the costume which is modeled after a dominatrix outfit. Reportedly Fukada was very pleased with the results, however the costume did cause her trouble during filming.

Back in May shooting for "Yatterman" had to be halted when the skin-tight costume kept slitting open at the seems. As a result of the costume being so form fitting, a slight weight gain by Fukada caused the costume to no longer fit her.

It was at that point that the costume had to be redesigned to accomodate the actress.

In "Yatterman", a film directed by Miike Takashi, Doronjo and her cronies attempt to find a mysterious stone which is said to reveal the location of the world’s largest gold deposit.

Kyoko Fukuda Cast As Yatterman's Nemesis Doronjo

Some more cast announcements for the live-action adapatation of popular 70s anime "Yatterman". With the lead stars already named, the roles of the main villains fell to: Kyoko Fukuda (25) as the sexy and scantily clad Doronjo, Katsuhisa Namase (47) as the effeminate tech wizard Boyacky, and Yoshimoto comedian Kobayashi Kendo(35) using his Kansai dialect in the role of Tonzler. The movie, to be directed by Takashi Miike, is due for release in the spring of 2009. A new version of the anime started yesterday on the NTV and Yomiuri TV networks.
