
B-MOVIE CELEBRATION IN FRANKLIN: GROUND ZERO FOR B-CULTURE
The Camelot couple of B-culture is extremely proud to host THE 2008 B-MOVIE CELEBRATION. Earlier this year, The Queen organized an art show to help the hometown of the event with a flood relief benefit called THE AMAZING COLOSSAL ART SHOW and the remaining items will be sold at auction as part of the opening festivities. The people of Franklin are eager to receive their THE QUEEN OF TRASH--Banners bearing her image attacking the ARTCRAFT theater as THE 50FT. WOMAN flutter all over town!
On September 26th, 27th and 28th THE B-MOVIE CELEBRATION has a whopping 50 films programmed all over Franklin, Indiana including DEATH RACE 2000, HOLLYWOOD BOULEVARD, THIS ISLAND EARTH, TARANTULA, CARNIVAL OF SOULS, NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD, NIGHT OF THE COMET, BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS, THE GIANT BEHEMOTH, QUEEN OF OUTER SPACE, WORLD WITHOUT END, RUSS MEYER'S UP, FROM HELL IT CAME, NOT OF THIS EARTH, THE BEAST FROM 20,000 FATHOMS, THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD, EARTH VS. THE FLYING SAUCERS, GALAXY OF TERROR, THE CRAWLING EYE, PSYCHO, JOURNEY TO THE SEVENTH PLANET, ATTACK OF THE GIANT LEECHES, NIGHTHAWKS, ONE MILLION B.C., INVADERS FROM MARS, ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN, TWINS OF EVIL, THE TIME MACHINE, WAR OF THE WORLDS and, of course, ATTACK OF THE 50FT. WOMAN
However, THE QUEEN OF TRASH and MR. LOBO will mainly be at the beautiful and historic ARTCRAFT Theatre, introducing practically all of the films presented there, interviewing special guests, giving out prizes, encouraging audience participation, and greeting B-Movie fans from all over the country and abroad.
Last year, Mr. Lobo and The Queen had a fantastic time stirring things up with directors and B-Movie greats like LLOYD KAUFMAN, TOM SAVINI, CONRAD BROOKS, and JIM WYNORSKI and this year they’re back with some famous friends. There are too many special guests and events to list them all. There will be a retrospective of The Films of JIM WYNORSKI like Miss Mitten’s favorite CHOPPING MALL. A special screening of CYXORK 7 with writer/director JOHN HUFF in person! They will be presenting the best film ever involving a horror host character, FRIGHT NIGHT with the director TOM HOLLAND live and in person and MR. LOBO will be bringing the ultimate horror host documentary WATCH HORROR FILMS KEEP AMERICA STRONG to Bob Wilkins home state for a rare screening.
The event will also be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the most successful indy short film HARDWARE WARS by presenting a special award to ERNIE FOSSELIUS saluting his career. The show will have about 20 workshops and seminars, including a screenwriters boot camp with RON ABERDEEN and a Horror Host panel with Q and A. THE B-MOVIE CELEBRATION is also the home for the fiercely free and independent SUMMER TROMADANCE film festival presenting new talent with a TROMA taint. Though the miracle of modern holistic geography, we also will have THE WORLD’S LARGEST BEACH PARTY in the parking lot across the street from the ARTCRAFT where my California pals WILL THE THRILL and MONICA TIKI GODDESS will be presenting “ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS” and rock to the beat of the schlock rock combo THE MOON RAYS! On Sunday Indy Film Co-Op honcho Bill Dever premieres HIS home grown Sci-Fi film BLOOD MOON and more, more, more!
