20th Century Fox appears to be happy (and confident) with Matt Reeves’ work on the upcoming “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes,” having already enlisted him to direct the next installment, too.
The third “Planet of the Apes” feature is currently untitled and Chernin Entertainment will return as producers.
Deadline Hollywood was the first to report the news.
The franchise is a major priority for the studio after “Rise of the Planet of the Apes” overperformed grossing $482 million at the box office while also receiving very favorable reviews when it was released in the summer of 2011.
The sequel, starring Jason Clarke, Andy Serkis and Gary Oldman, will open July 11.
Reeves is repped by CAA.
