In an explosive mishap while testing his new power-ray, Reed inadvertently ignites Johnny, causing him to go up in flames and destroy his tuxedo in the process! Later, when Reed meets Sue, tensions rise as she expresses her anger over the fact that her father's killers remain at large. Determined to bring justice, Reed commissions a groundbreaking spacecraft from NASA, designed for an audacious journey through sub-space to the Skrull homeworld.
Upon their arrival, the Fantastic Four face off against the formidable Morrat, the Skrull Warlord. With grand visions of conquest and a desire to marry King Dorrek's daughter, Anelle, Morrat poses a significant threat. In a fierce battle, he overpowers the Fantastic Four and captures them, but not before Anelle informs her father of their presence on Skrull territory. The enraged king deems Morrat's actions treasonous and seeks to confront the situation.
As tension escalates, Morrat, mistaking Reed's power-booster for a weapon, demands that Reed use it against his allies. Under duress, Reed activates the device, restoring the Fantastic Four, who then engage in an intense fight against Morrat and his Skrull forces. Just as the battle reaches its climax, King Dorrek arrives, commanding Morrat to cease his treachery. In a desperate act, Morrat orders his troops to eliminate the king.
When Anelle rushes to save her father, Morrat throws himself into the line of fire, ultimately meeting his demise. With Morrat defeated, the king reveals that it was he who harbored ambitions of conquering Earth. He assures the Fantastic Four that they no longer need to fear Skrull invasion and grants them safe passage back to their home.
The FF arrives just in time to partake in Reed and Sue's practice ceremony, culminating this thrilling escapade with a note of celebration.
