Comic Book Divas Launches GOLDILOCKS IN ZOMBIELAND

After two months of nail-biting anticipation, Jeff Hughes and Jason Dubes's (that rhymes!) twisted take on classic fairy tales, "Goldilocks In Zombieland" has finally hit the net.

Oh no, this is not the Goldilocks you grew up with! This chick (modeled after actress Scarlet Salem) is one bad-ass-zombie-killing-machine, with a shotgun in one hand, a blade in the other, and all the right curves in all the right places.

So what happens to our heroin to turn her from the little girl who just wanted a warm meal and a nap to the next "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"?

Three weeks ago, STORYBOOK 2012 was a beautiful and tranquil STORYBOOK world, the birds were singing, everyone’s favorite pixie “Dingy” was flying over head and many of some of our favorite character’s were strolling down the side walk.

That was three weeks ago, and now STORYBOOK 2012 has gone to the zombies, and it looks like not even the “Blue Bird Of Happiness” is safe!

Yes, the zombie virus has gotten loose in this land of make-believe, and it will be up to Goldilocks, and her zombie-killing pals to take care of the problem.

Who will be aiding Goldilocks in this fight against the undead, you may ask?

Well, only the top talent in indie horror today ...... and um .......... yours truly.

Yes, Jeff Hughes has informed me that I have just been added to the cast of "Goldilocks In Zombieland" as a "Zombie Killer."

I quite honoured, really!

So if you want to see what I would look like as a comic book character, and honestly I'm kinda curios myself, then be sure to keep up with the latest instalments of "Goldilocks In Zombieland"!

I just hope that Jeff and Jason aren't making a mistake? Don't get me wrong, I've always wanted to be a 'hero' in comic book or movie, but then again, I've always wanted to be a monster too.

With a grill like mine, the zombies may run away before Scarlet can blast em.

Are You Ready For A Gun Toting Goldilocks? To Go Gaga Over Scarlet Salem?

For the past couple of months I have been reporting on how Comic Book Divas are about to turn the fictional world from some of the most beloved children's stories ever written on it's ear with their upcoming web comic, "Goldilocks In Zombieland". Well today the maker of female heroine driven comics has just released the first two 'official' images from the series.

As you probably already know, this modern, zombie killing, Goldie is based on the likeness of model/actress Scarlet Salem, who has been featured often here at MIN. (See photo left) ...... (okay, eyes back on the article please!)

Ahem, the story for "Goldilocks in Zombieland" is being penned by the multi-talented Jeff Hughes, and being illustrated by the equally talented Jason Dube.

Along with the lovely miss Salem, "Goldilocks" will also feature the likenesses of Aasa Hope, Tara Cardinal, Bianca Barnett and Dai Green for it's main characters.

Here is the synopsis:

When we were children we all read the classic storybook stories of Red Riding Hood, The Three Blind Mice, Jack and Jill, the Gingerbread Man and many other stories that taught many of us valuable lessons in life.

What if that world did not exist because of a unknown zombie virus that spread like wildfire throughout the storybook world and turned this lovable characters into brain loving flesh eating monsters!?

Welcome to StoryBook World 2012 one of many story book worlds in the storybook universe, but this storybook has been devastated by that unknown zombie virus, turning many storybook residents into flesh eating monsters.

Who can save them?!, Who can stop this madness?!, Who can kick major zombie butt plus have the fashion sense and look really hot doing it?!

That's when you call GOLDILOCKS!!!!

"Goldilocks In Zombie Land" tells the story of Goldilocks and her band of zombie hunting friends Bo Peep, The Woodsman, and Jack (From The Bean Stalk) as they fight, hack, slash, and shoot their way through a horde of fairy tale zombies in order to reach Castle Tower the last safe haven in StoryBook 2012 and the home of Queen Rapunzel.

Here are the first images, along with a couple of Scarlet Salem from her most recent model shoot:

Goldilocks is no longer sleeping with a stuffed animal, no she is curled up with her shotgun pistols and her ammo of choice 'Zombie Ammo', the contrast of Goldilocks sitting on 'Baby Bears' bed surrounded by objects of happier times while she keeps watch is a great scene as it shows past and present events.

Readers will see Goldilocks (Scarlet Salem) already about to meet an old friend, Baby Bear, but he has under gone some changes.

A Special Sneak Peek - Queen Rapunzel From "Goldilocks In Zombie Land"

Om Wednesday I was sent the first rough sketch from Comic Book Divas upcoming online comic, "Goldilocks In Zombie Land" featuring the likeness of actress Scarlet Salem as Goldilocks. Today I have her partner in zombie slaying, Queen Rapunzel, who is modeled after actress and author Dai Green. (See Below)

Like Goldilocks, Rapunzel is sexy and elegant, like Green herself, but don't let the graceful exterior fool you, she will be kicking ass right alongside the title character, and she won't even get her makeup smugged in the process.

Comic Book Divas owner and artist Jason Dube are proud to reveal the preliminary art for "Queen Rapunzel" which is portrayed by Dai Green.

This is a very preliminary look at "Queen Rapunzel" as you can see creator and writer Jeff Hughes and artist Jason Dube took more a traditional path to Queen Rapunzel's costume but readers can expect more of a slight up to date look.

We went for this look since after all she is the Queen of this story book world so she had to look very elegant but also maintain that sexy confident look something that both the fairy tale character and Dai Green both have in common.

Queen Rapunzel may look very prim and proper but this version of Rapunzel can and will kick major zombie butt all while her crown stays on her head!

Dai Green will be portraying StoryBook 2012’s “Queen Rapunzel”; from the start reader’s will know that Goldilocks and Rapunzel have a past but their is mutual respect between the two; reader’s will also discover that she is a lot more than your average ruler, she is more than willing to get into the zombie fight herself.

Dai Green is the Managing Editor of “HorrorNews.net“, she also runs the column called Horror Talk with Dai and is also co-host of the infamous Podcast From Hell” with my lovely co-host John Torrani and The Gash with the equally as beautiful Rebekah The Jew and Nita Burson.

Dai Green is a horror enthusiast and promote the genre as much as humanly possible!

The First Character Sketch From "Goldilocks In Zombie Land"

Last month I reported that Comic Book Divas were getting ready to launch an online web comic series about a zombie hunting Goldilocks who's likeness was being modeled after scream queen Scarlet Salem.

Well, today I was sent the first preliminary artwork of the gun-toting "Goldi" by Jason Dube.

As you can imagine, this is not the Goldilocks that everyone grew up with. She's sexy, savvy, and carriers a plethora of weapons that would get the "Predator" all worked up.

Here is a copy of the release that came with this updated version of the character that sprang from the pen of English author and poet Robert Southey way back in 1837.

The preliminary artwork is beginning to arrive from artist Jason Dube on some of the primary characters for the upcoming web series, we are going to begin story
boarding the first pages very soon.

The first primary character is Goldilocks that is being portrayed by horror actress and scream queen Scarlet Salem; Jeff Hughes owner and primary writer for Comic Book Divas and Jason Dube owner of Scattered Comic Book Studios and artist strived to keep many of the elements of the fairy tale costume with a modern look and combine it with a sort of gunslinger look.

Although not shown, our Goldilocks will not skip down the cobbled streets of the storybook unarmed, she will be packing two shotgun pistols, a wrist activated crossbow gun, a samurai blade shaped bowie knife and just in case all else fails a spring loaded baseball bat.

We will be presenting other characters very soon that will include; Queen Rapunzel
(Portrayed By Dai Green) The Woodsman (Portrayed By Joe Knetter) and host of
others as the story progresses.
