Those words, uttered by Fox Mulder in a new two-part trailer released on Monday, will be music to the ears of "X-Files" fans everywhere.

The Fox drama series is making a TV comeback in January after a 13-year hiatus. The new trailer shows Mulder (played by David Duchovny) reaching out to his former partner Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson), and gives a glimpse of the eerie excitement in store.

As the trailer promises: "The truth is still out there."

OK, the speedster isn’t unleashing any of his impressive waterworks in these first photos from the CW hit’s Season 2 premiere (Oct. 6 at 8/7c), but a celebration in his honor does get a rude interruption from Atom-Smasher (Haven star and former WWE Superstar Adam Copeland).

Good thing Barry has some friends, including Joe and Cisco, in the crowd to help save the day — but not before the hero gets a brutal beating, it seems.

When The X-Files returns to Fox in 2016, the show's core partnership will be fractured: in the time since viewers last saw Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) — in 2008 feature, I Want to Believe — the franchise's central pair have broken up.

"We do it in an interesting way," The X-Files creator Chris Carter tells The Hollywood Reporter of his decision to break up the popular couple. "We play with that relationship [in the event series]. We put some of the tension back in that was relieved by them being together. It added to the storytelling opportunities. It’s something that I came up with; I had been thinking about it. There was always talk of [breaking them up] if we did another movie."

Fox first confirmed that Mulder and Scully would be split in the upcoming revival during its summer Television Critics Association session after reporters were shown a clip from the January premiere, "My Struggle," which indicated as much. The subsequent fan reaction to the news has been mixed, at best.

When the series first started, Scully was partnered with Mulder to debunk his paranormal findings, but the pair quickly bonded and took on an us-versus-the-world mentality. They kept things (outwardly) platonic for a while, until the duo a thwarted kiss during the show's first movie, Fight the Future. (Mulder also kissed a 1939-version of Scully during season six.) It took until season seven for the two to successfully lock lips. It was revealed at the end of that season that Scully was pregnant — though in true X-Files fashion, it took a year for the show to 100 percent confirm that Mulder was baby's father.

X-Files Wraps Up Filming As Twin Peaks Preps Production

As one ‘90s revival TV show wraps production, another ‘90 revival TV show begins production. Over in Vancouver, season 10 of The X-Files is about to finish up production, while Twin Peaks is heading back to Washington state for its own long overdue revival on Showtime. Back in the ‘90s, viewers had a love for both FBI agents and the supernatural, at least according to the popularity of The X-Files and Twin Peaks.

The X-Files followed the lives of FBI agents Fox Mulder (David Duchovny) and Dana Scully (Gillian Anderson) as they investigate the paranormal and uncover the US government’s conspiracy regarding extraterrestrials. The show had nine seasons, spawned two feature-length movies, a comic book series, and is returning to Fox with a revival mini-series, which will be considered the tenth season of the show.

According to YVRshoots, David Duchovny just wrapped almost three months of filming in Vancouver. The actor shot his last scene with costars Gillian Anderson and Robbie Amell; the latter will be playing a new character in the series, Agent Miller. The fan-favorite Lone Gunmen were also spotted on the set, but unfortunately, no photographic evidence was provided.

From Canada to Washington state, the crew for Twin Peaks has started prepping for that show’s revival. The creative minds of David Lynch and Mark Frost brought Twins Peaks to ABC in 1990 and the show featured some of the most interesting surrealism to grace any broadcast network. As Agent Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) investigates the murder of high schooler Laura Palmer, he finds that the town of Twin Peaks is not quite what it seems. 25 years after the show was cancelled prematurely, Showtime and David Lynch announced that the series would be revived on the cable network. Despite issues between Lynch and Showtime, the show is set to premiere in late 2016 or early 2017.

‘The Big Bang Theory’: The Major Change Coming in Season 9

The Big Bang Theory’s season eight finale left off with several big cliffhangers, but fans don’t have to wait for the show to return to get some resolution. Ahead of the upcoming season nine premiere, showrunner Steven Molaro has just dropped a major bomb about the status of Penny and Leonard’s relationship. Warning: spoilers ahead.

For those who need a refresher, season eight ended with all of the show’s central couples in disarray. Amy (Mayim Bialik) breaks up with Sheldon (Jim Parsons), not knowing that he has bought her an engagement ring. Howard (Simon Helberg) and Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) are desperately trying to get Stuart to leave their house. Meanwhile, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) seemingly run off to Vegas to get married, leaving fans with the question will they finally tie the knot?

According to TVLine, the answer is yes. Molaro confirmed that after years of on-and-off dating, the longtime couple will officially become husband and wife in the season nine premiere. The revelation will come as good news to those who have been waiting for the characters to finally take the plunge since they first got engaged in season seven (or for some, since before that).

“We’re nine years in and we want to keep things moving forward, as well as exciting and scary and fun,” Molaro told TVLine of the choice to finally let the two marry. “And I think this a great way to do it. Penny has had commitment issues for years and years now, especially when it comes to Leonard, and even she feels, ‘How much longer are we going to go back and forth on this? Let’s just jump in and hope for the best.’”

While the revelation may be exciting to the series longtime fans, some are surprised that Molaro decided to drop such a big spoiler so close to the upcoming premiere. Still, the showrunner says fans should take it as an indication of how surprise-filled the entire next season will be.
