Don't you hate it when your girlfriend is turned into a half-snake creature by some crazed scientist?
The Chinese film "Snake Curse" may very well hold the record for the longest wait for a release in cinema history. The film that was completed in 2004 is finally getting a theatrical run in China. That's a five year span where this film sat on shelve waiting to be seen. I did a little research and I couldn't find any explanation for why the film is only now being seen. I guess that it is lucky for the film makers that it is finally getting into theaters at all.
Details on "Snake Curse" a little scarce, but from what I can gather it revolves around a crazed scientist who conducts all kinds of experiments on snakes including DNA splicing to create a half-woman/half-snake.
From the trailer it looks like he also creates an army of giant snakes to do his dirty work.
Again, I am putting this all together from the scarce articles on the film and the clips that are online. Regardless of the exact story, it is certain to be the kind of film that would make Indiana Jones pee himself. There are tons of snakes, snake women, martial arts spectacle and Chinese black magic to delight Asian cinema fans.
It is unknown if this one will ever reach our shores but it looks bizarre enough to be worth the quest to find on DVD.
