Mystery Lights Over The UK Becoming More Frequent And Wide Spread

What you see in the above video is strange light sighted over Bradford, West Yorkshire, on New Years Eve. The eyewitness who shot the video stated that the object remained motionless in the sky for about five minutes before it disappeared. Then several minutes later, another similar object appeared in the sky further away. That object remained for another couple of minutes before it too, vanished.

Now, normally such a sighting wouldn't mean very much, but considering the number of such sightings over the UK in the last couple of months, this is just one piece of a larger puzzle.

As many of you know, I just started adding UFO and Cryptozoology news to Monster Island news a couple of months back. Since I started monitoring UFO sightings in the press, I have noticed a very definite trend coming out of the UK. Orange or brightly colored lights, sometimes seen alone or in mass numbers. Honestly I haven't been able to report on all the reported sightings. They seem to be happening on a daily basis in several different spots across the UK.

Case in point, here is selection of sightings from today's news.

UFO Sighting In Trafford (From Messenger Newspapers UK)

On December 23rd (2008) a Trafford Centre employee took a photo of seven objects above the shopping center.

That article also notes a report of orange lights in the sky several months prior.

UFO Spotted In Dedworth? (From The Slough & Langley Observer)

Gino Gaudio shot a video of bright orange orbs of light floating in the sky above his home at around 9.40pm on December 22nd (2008).

Teenager Claims To Have Spotted UFO (Staithes and Hinderwell Today)

Stephen Day was enjoying an outing with his family, when he decided to take a snap shots of some nearby helicopters. When he got home he discovered that there where more than just military choppers flying around, “On the first picture you can clearly see a metallic disc shaped object directly above the cliff. The second photo is less clear but it appears to be the same object only on its side."

That was a lot of UFO news to come out of one small nation for such a short span of time. To make a point, I could only find one other UFO report from around the globe during that time. That was from here in the US.

Some skeptics point to a rash of "Chinese Lantern" sightings (apparently these things are blowing off of peoples patios) as a possible explanation, but how many of those things could there be across the UK?

I will continue to monitor these sightings and report on them when I can. I think that this is a fascinating phenomena. Hopefully some more good concrete evidence will be collected by credible eyewitnesses.
