Way back on October 30th 1938, Orson Welles radio play, which was presented in the format of a live news broadcast, of H.G. Wells classic novel, "War of the Worlds", caused mass panic, as thousands believed that the Earth was indeed being invaded by an army from Mars.
Hopefully society has become a little more sophisticated in 2009, as again, Welles reading of Wells will be rebroadcast as a promotional tool to draw attention to Richard Linklater’s upcoming film "Me And Orson Wells".
The film, which will hit theaters on November 25th, stars Christian McKay, Claire Danes, Zac Efron, Kelly Reilly, Zoe Kazan, Eddie Marsan and James Tupper.
To listen in to a very important bit of sci fi history, and, for that matter, American history, go to http://waroftheworldstribute.com/ on October 30th at 8:00 PM EST.
